First, we had this:

And now we have Brie Larson as Captain Marvel on the cover of Entertainment Weekly.

Here are photos from the Entertainment Weekly story:

Carol Danvers, ace fighter pilot

Monica Rambeau, also ace fighter pilot

Carol Danvers, superhero

The teal suit is a thing

Jude Law

Korath and Ronan

Finally, the Skrull

It doesn't get more '90s than a Nine In Nails shirt

Nick Fury, desk jockey of S.H.I.E.L.D.

We still have several months to go, but it's never too early to start the hype train. I'm a big fan of Carol Danvers, so I've been looking forward to this for about ten years now, ever since I realized Marvel was going to make more than one Iron Man movie. I'm especially happy they've decided to include
Monica Rambeau in the movie, since she's
a very important character in the Captain Marvel story.

Seeing the original red/blue suit after having already seen the teal version via leaked photos, my initial thought was that the producers wanted to do something a little different with the character, but got cold feet when fans reacted badly to the colour choice.

Like you say, it's now legit.

I don't know if it was cold feet. I think it's more a case of
the teal suit is the uniform of the Starforce, and her usual red, blue and gold suit is her own which she adopts after leaving Starforce. Both were always going to be in the movie but the teal suit leaked first and fans freaked out.

I'll admit, I'm not entirely clued up on Danvers' backstory, but thanks for the explanation. 👍

I know nothing about her and have been a DC guy but it seems like she's the Green Lantern analog?

More of a Superman analog. Flight, strength, invulnerability just like Superman, but with power blasts and more. She's part Kree which is where she gets her powers. She's the second Captain Marvel after the original, a Kree named Mar-vell. She was Miss (later Ms.) Marvel before she stepped up. She's the most powerful hero in the Mavel universe. Marvel has mostly used her in their bigger cosmic storylines. She only became Captain Marvel in 2012.

First look: Miss Marvel outfit "Who needs pants?"

Second look: Ms. Marvel outfit. Still no pants.

Third look: Captain Marvel outfit. She's finally got pants but she kept the sash.

Assuming the trailer will debut at Venom once it comes out early October. Getting a bit antsy waiting for it, then hopefully A4 trailer in November

Yet another superhero!

I'm getting to the point where I'm beginning to think that I'm the only person left who isn't one.

"Discover What Makes a Hero" - slaps old lady

"Give me back my seat, you 🤬!"

Judging by that clip the Skull are going to impersonate everyone and Captain Marvel doesn't know who to trust, bar Nick and Coulson

Considering her outfit, it's from when she first lands on Earth. I'm guessing she has a better nose for sniffing out Skrulls than anybody else, and it may even be whomever she's chasing later on the train. Or the Skrull on the operating table...

Hopefully they'll explain her absence in Avengers 1. She and Hulk ;) could have ended it with that one hitter quitter.

I have really high hopes for this one. I am really liking the latest trend of female-led action movies. I really enjoyed Atomic Blonde, Wonder woman, Lucy etc.
Also being a 90's I am looking forward to the new timesetting within the marvel universe. I am even more excited about this one then Star Wars episode 9.

More superhero films?? Why dont we get a World War 1 film based on the Ottomans or Austria-Hungary

As much as I like to see movies like that, I’m still holding out for a movie on Tsar Alexander or Catherine the Great, they just don’t make money like the marvel movies do.

I've never understood people who think it should it be necessary to have one genre at the expense of the other.

Because there are only so many movie producers, if there were an infinite amount of people making movies, infinite actors and infinite cash sure there would be a lot more movies out there

Oh well, better go with the ones the majority of people like and support, then. :) You want an Ottoman movie? Fund it yourself. :p

R.I.P.

Has anything official been said yet about his cameos in all future Marvel films?
