I'm looking at buying a capture card so I can make my video's properly for you guys, and I have a question. I want to be able to record both the video AND the sound, will the AV in (yellow) port let me do this, or would I have to drag my TV in here and hook it up via coax to get the audio as well? Obviously a PS2 on my desk would not be half as much trouble as lugging my entire TV in here, especially since I have 4 external speakers hardwired to the stupid thing and the only way to move it is to unhook all the speakers o_0

I have an ATI All-In-Wonder 9000pro ($160). It does everything you are looking for. It accepts S-Video, RCAs, and Coaxial. It captures great quality, and is a great vid card to boot. I would suggest this card to anyone.;)

I don't think you should limit it to only $35 IMO. Your only going to get poor capture quality with anythuing that cheap. You can get a Dazzle DVC80 for between $70 and $80, but that's as low as you should go IMHO. ;)

im not really worried about capturing but i want to be able to hook up the ps2 video and audio to the pc so i can save space

Well, the only way to do that is with a "capture" card. The DVC80 is as low as anyone should go IMO. ;)

Bryan, you should use the search function and see what other members have posted in the past about capture cards.

I use a Pinnacle PCTV that was worth $50. You can take a look at www.pinnaclesys.com :)

yah, I thought of that thio, but all I found were some older posts, and I wanted to make sure I got the most up to date stuff because technology advances so fast these days. Heck, 2 months ago AMD 64 3000+'s cost like $450, now you can pick them up for $225. Sorry if I'm cluttering the forum, Id just really like to be able to make vid's easier, I'd release a ton of em for you guys to enjoy if I coud get a get a good vid capturer.

Ivé been testing a couple of video in cards and all that i can say from it is that the Pinnacle PC TV Rave is the biggest bang for the buck. U wont need any higher quality then what that card offer if ur going to make drift movies imho.

Edit: As for audio, i think it will work a-okey if u just connect the L/R connections into a 2XRCA to one 3.5mm stereo plug converter-thingey into the line in on your soundcard/motherboard.

i need a really cheap card i dont really care about the quality as long as it's better then a still cam thats can record 20 sec vids lol

The dazzle dvc 80 captures in 352x 480
but if you awnt something that captures in full frames ex 720 X 480 get the dvc 150 by dazzle .
