Car accelerating on its own with dfgt! anyone have this problem?

If I press the brakes and come to a full stop the car starts to drive at 10-15% throttle after I release the brake. The wheel is a little off center too, and its really getting annoying. This is all on a dfgt that worked perfectly until a few days ago.

But it only happens on gt5, I tried to recreate the problem in shift and midnight club and the wheel is perfectly straight and no acceleration problem. Even if I adjust the dead zone in shift and up the sensitivity it still only happens in gt5.

This is with no driver aids on whatsoever. How could this be possible? Could it be something to do with how it handles gt5; I say this because the adjustment knob (for in game TCS, brake bias...) doesnt work in any other racing games, so gt5 must have some of its own settings with the wheel since its the official wheel (or was). Any suggestions? Should I just call Logitech and try and get a replacement as it is still within warranty?

All this was tested on a flat track as well, so no hills could throw it off.

Just to add, I did unplug everything and replug it in to calibrate, even used the calibration software on my PC and it showed that the accelerator was at 0 when the pedal was not being pressed.

If you have had the DFGT for awhile, the pot on the gas pedal may need to be cleaned.

If it is fairly new, I don't have any help.

Don't know if this is related to the slightly off center thing but I sometimes have that with the driving force. If I then turn the wheel all the way to the right and then all the way to the left that seems to correct the issue.

What car are you driving? Some cars with an automatic transmission/gearbox (not the transmission you get to choose) do that, such as the Nissan GT-R.

Sounds stupid but I have to say it - is your controller down a sofa or something? Last time this happened to me, someone was sitting on the right stick.

Sorry to ask a stupid question, are you in manual or auto mode?

Not stupid at all but I am using manual.

I was using the GT-R when I first noticed it, and then tried a bunch of others with the same results, cant remember which ones I tried tho.

plug in your pedals BEFORE you connect the wheel to the PS3, THEN calibrate.

its a bug...

I always leave it all plugged in, but I will make sure its got a solid connection before I start it next time.

I can't believe I never thought of this, I always just throw my controller on the nearby couch when I start racing. The controller is always #1 and the wheel is set to #2 so this makes sense for it to happen.

I'm going to play again tomorrow and if it's fine then this had to have been the problem.

Or, Re-Plug the pedals until problem ceases.
It worked for me, but the above idea is more in-depth:tup:

Good suggestion, I will keep this in mind.

I bought it about 9 months ago, now I'm kicking myself for not getting the g27 lol.

For sure going to try this because this has been bothering me for a while, on other games it's dead on straight, but not gt5.

That's weird. I'm not sure if this happens with my DFGT, but it does happen with my SIXASIS controller... After I stop, release the brake and then the car starts to accelerate slightly. It doesn't accelerate if I stop with the handbrake.

if you have your feet on peddles when games load it sets the bite point reload game with ur feet restin on both peddles so they are both held about 3 to 6 percent once game loads ur problems gone m8

did you do the SSR7 glitch with your wheel? you could damage your motor due to the lack of physics out of the map. or from just steering right for the past week

Hmmm, from what I understand, unless brake is applied, the vehicle will always be in first gear and thus will move forward.

Fact u most of had ur gas peddle pressed in when the game was loading so it sets your peddle to that level restart the game with both peddles gently pressed in a tad when the game is loading then ur problems gone

its not a firm ware issue plus the dfgt dont have any memory to save updates when a game loads n wheel calabarates if u press peddles in they will calabarate to so ur peddles need resetting load game and whilst its loading press peddles so they are bearly pressed like 1 percent when games loaded bet ur problems gone

Wow this has been driving me nuts and apparently caused me much more work than needed. My pedals were having lots of problems and getting worse so I was expecting to have to tear the connector apart and re-attach the wires anyway. Then PSN went down so I decided to try for the GT-R Official Record.

Pedal was giving me major trouble and then I noticed that I couldn't get the gas to shut off completely so I figured it must just be time to tear it apart. It wasn't until the 3rd or 4th attempt that I realized that this was in fact simply the GT-R applying the throttle for me when the revs dropped too low and I had been wasting my time. At least I have three nice, solid connections now :).

I suppose it's "realistic" that an auto-only car would do this as autos do require you to hold the brake to stay still, but it does seem unneccessary. And it is irritating that it shows up on telemetry as though I'm the one pushing the pedal, but I think I can understand why(easier for PD). How many cars do this?
