Does any one know how to install a car amp ?I think i got it but I dont want to make a mistake. Power goes to battery, remote goes to remote in back of stereo(right), here where im having trouble ground goes to any good ground area or where?

Connect it solidily to any bare chassis metal. When I did my first sub/amp install I ran my ground wire to the bolt which held my rear light assembly to the chassis. Second time around I connected it to the bolt which held down the rear seats.

Make sure the fuse is close to the battery.

if it was me, i'd connect to both chassis and battery. chassis will do for most basic things, like my electronic guages (oil pressure, volts, crappy head unit) i have no problem earthing to body. for something really high powered (ignition, large amp) you'll find there will be a benefit earthing back to the battery. i won't try to explain it because i suck at electroics, maybe someone else can do better

Electricity will always to the easiest route ... which won't be back to the battery ;)

Why ? Longer cable = higher resistance ... Unless, you used a crappy ground to the chassis in the back, grounding to the battery just adds more work, stress, weight, and cost to the project ...

When making a ground, you almost always want to use the shortest cable possible ...

you tell that to japanese performance companies who fit ignition earthing kits to cars and pick up proven horsepower gains, and vastly clearer signals on an oscilloscope. humor me and fit an extra big earth back to battery negative, it won't hurt
