What? GT5 is a game? C'mon... It's an outstanding simulator, but there's no "game" there that I've found...

I've never played FM but I have no problem believing it's a better game.

If only to G25 worked on Xbox 360, they would sell so many more wheel, of course Microsoft wont let anything that's useable on the Xbox to be useable on the PS3, except the Fanatec wheel, but that's 2 out of about 8 wheels they offer.

This is actually THE reason I got a PS3 and not an XBOX, and I can't be alone.

Since then, I learned that you can't turn off the spin recovery and there is an active steering assist in Forza 3? If that is correct, that would have been a total no-go for me anyway, I don't need help with my driving. :-)

The best news out of this for PD is that they've got the hardest part down now. Getting the actual driving physics down is obviously the hardest issue when it comes to creating a racing sim.

Great point here, I've told numerous people I can't quite put my finger on it, but driving GT5 just feels right.

A little competition between Forza and GT5 will only bolster both products and the real winners will be us enthusiasts. :-)

Car and Driver "Forza is what you play with your friends when hanging out; GT5 is what you attempt to master in solitude"

Agree. 👍

Let's not get carried away. Neither is a "real car experience."

Each game has a long list of things it does better than the other...

I think I have enough time invested to make that guess. But thanks for your input....

Well, I don't think anyone is going to accuse C&D of being Sony or X-Box biased. :) Will have to read the article later, but I think it's great that the genre is getting closer and closer to the realm of real world cars, from pro and aspiring pro racers using it as a tool to car magazines putting it up against real life, and with controller manufacturers taking a huge leap and getting competitive to keep up with the games... It's an exciting era to be in at the very least!

I agree, this whole generation of fanboy crap makes little sense to me. Back in the early 80's we all got different systems for a reason. So that we could have a better gaming experience and play each other's system. Since no ones parents were going to buy them every console on the market at the time. I own 10 consoles now and while I do have a preference to which I like better. I still see video games as video games. Not by what consoles they are played on.

Froza for racing with friends Gt5 not? Why? Dont agree with that. Gt5 is for a bit more serious racers yes, forza is not as sim, both work well racing agaisnt friends.

Never even realized it, but you're right. The fanboy banter really didn't exist until X-Box hit the market, it seems. Even SEGA and Nintendo seemed pretty tame in competition. Well we've got Sonic and Mario in the same games now, maybe it's only a matter of time before Forza GT comes out. :)

Finally a review by real car gurus who knows how cars SHOULD handle as compared to video game reviewers who just THINKS how a car should handle. Great article! Hopefully PD will sort out all the bugs and give us a better game in GT6.
