Hey guys,

I've been following discussions on here for quite sometime and finally signed up to join the discussions. What a great resource! (I use the tuning forum a LOT) 👍

I wanted to let you guys know I created a very simply checklist app for the Android that makes it easier to track what cars you have acquired. It doesn't track multiple cars, but it really is very easy to use. Let me know if there is another app you guys would be interested in and I'll see what I can do.

Search for GT5 Checklist on the marketplace or appbrain.com

Or, use your barcode scanner app to go directly to the app on your phone!

Just throwing this out there, what's the average Marginal Revenue for an Ad-supported App on Android?

Chris

Depends on the ad network used and the type of app. The best ad network is the one that has enough ad inventory to serve every request made by the app AND has high quality advertisers that pay well when the ads are shown or clicked on.

The network that is used the most on Android is Google's AdMob which has the highest filtrate in the industry but has low quality ads which means you have to make an insane amount of ad requests in order to make revenue. 100000 requests for a few cents on ad impressions (an impression means just showing 1 ad, not clicking on it) is not uncommon.

Serious envelopers use a combination of several ad networks. They start with the highest paying network and if the request fails they try the 2nd network and so on.

The app itself must also generate a lot of requests which can be done by usage. An app that is used a lot has more chance to send the requests to the network. The app here is not the type of app you would use for a long period of time. It's more a referencing app you would use in quick sessions, just like my apps were. I think the paying version will generate the most revenue.

Is there an iPhone app too? Sorry, I'm at work and just read you don't have an iPhone app. This would be very handy as I currently am writing down my cars with pen and paper!

Unfortunately not, I'm not an iPhone developer. One of these I'll have to look into that. đź’ˇ

I downloaded this and like it. It would be nice to have a standard/premium designation and to add the DLC/pre-order cars. For example: list all the Chromelines, gamestop, best buy pre-orders, etc.

Also - it would be really nice that after you entered into a manufacturers list and went back to the main list it would remember your spot instead of having to scroll down from the top again!

Thanks!

Thanks for the compliment, suggestion, and critique!

The Standard/Premium designation is already setup in the database...I just need to enter the code to make it work. I fixed a non-critical bug last night but will wait to release an update until I can add the Premium/Standard code.

Aside from possibly adding an export to XML feature, I don't plan on many more updates to this. Its fairly simple and I want to keep it that way. I appreciate the interest though.

I just downloaded. Great app!! Simple and easy to use. Works great for those of us that like to collect certain makes. A trophy checklist would be a cool add as well.

I added a QR Code that will enable your Barcode Scanner app on your android phone to take you directly to the marketplace where this app is located!

There was an error when trying to update this app in the marketplace. So I have REMOVED THIS APP from the marketplace and uploaded a NEW VERSION with bug fixes and added a couple of enhancements. From this point forward, updates will not be a problem. The new version of this app is title GT5 Car Checklist.

The new app will NOT be able to copy your car collection over (sorry). I know it sucks, as I had to do it as well. I'm up to 190+ cars or so...it took some time.

The problem with the old version was that once you owned more than 140 cars you were unable to see your cars in the MyGarage section of the app. In fact, a Force Close message pops up. Of course, you are still able to add cars by selecting the make of the vehicle and finding the car on the list.

IF YOU HAVE DOWNLOADED THE 1ST VERSION AND ARE INTERESTED IN RECEIVING UPDATES I WOULD SUGGEST DOWNLOADING THE NEW VERSION. IF YOU HAVE ALREADY PURCHASED THE 1ST VERSION, I WILL GLADLY REFUND THE COST OF YOU PURCHASING THE NEW APP.

**IMPORTANT**
To receive a refund you must email me your name and I will refund the cost of the new app and remove your name from the list of names I have. You can find my email address at the bottom of the app in the marketplace.

(If your name does not match a name on my list you WILL NOT GET A REFUND)

Here is the QR code to help you find the app quickly.

I had purchased your first version. I sent you an email to get a refund so I can purchase new version. Its a cool app. It would be nice to add pictures of each car. It would also be nice if it had a search function.

I don't know how hard it would be to implement, but do you have plans to include descriptions and/or thumbnails?

I think it'd be too hard now, but once we're all able to gain root access to the playstation, we should be able to extract data from the game that way.

Anyway, sounds like a cool concept and I'd gladly pay for it, but I have no idea how to purchase apps from the android app store (don't like the idea of google checkout).

If they integrate paypal with it, then I'd get it.

There is also a free iPhone Car Checklist app too. It's called MyGT5 and works pretty well for free, I'm finding it very useful! Hopefully they will add this functionality into GT5 in the future!
