i would say definately yes, as long as its an option.
if damage could be turned on/off, i couldnt think of anyone who would object to it.

i personally would leave it on.

the only downside would be those punk computer drivers getting a little nasty with you.

i agree with Saleen. it should be an option to toggle on/off :)

Hey look at GT3 with no damage the game is ok without damage

But think about GT5 with damage that game sould be the best realistic game of the world

I think they could at least start with skid marks! Holy crap, I was so expecting skid marks and they SO let me down, what's up with that?

they used up almost the complete storage capacity of a DVD. they didnt have the memory for it. which is probably why we are missing things like autumn ring, grinderwald, red rock valley, etc.

damage would be real good, like in need for speed 4 and 5. but saleens right. when sony made gt3 they filled up a whole 4.7gb with textures and car models. i doubt that they will be able to make space for big improvements like damage. but oh well....wish they would make gt5 on cpu. that would be pretty sweet.

i think we will soon see a 2 DVD game, from some manufacturer.

either that, or some type of compressed files that u would have to install on your PS2 hard drive (when it comes out in a year.) but i doubt that. its too much like a computer, and is going away from the basis of what a console game is. its supposed to be a throw in the disk and play system.

so yah, i bet 2 DVD games are in the future.

Even though it takes away from the realism, I kind of enjoy having no damage. It's nice to see all the beautiful cars in great shape! :drink:

I agree that having car damage would be a great addition to the game but only if they also rewrite the AI so they don't drive like they're in a demolition derby!

The practicality of all of this is really limited by the capabilities of the PS2. There's only a fixed amount of storage and processing power available to the programmers so unfortunately some things have to get left out. I guess given the choice between the fabulous physics engine of GT3 or car damage + realistic AI I'd take the physics any day of the week!

 agreed.

Maybe if the much vaunted PC version of the game ever makes an appearance we might get to have all the bells & whistles we wish for (tho' we'd also have to put up with the inevitable joy of lock-ups, incompatabilities and crashes that come with PC software!).

There's something to be said for the simplicity of slapping a CD in the PS2 and getting on with things.
