Car Driving Itself Online

Yesterday while in an online room I selected my new Evo X and went to the track. When I appeared on the track I had no control over the car. The car then took off at full throttle and proceeded to lap the track by itself. This was not the normal 50mph pause menu criuse either... It has never happened to me before and I have never heard of this happening. Any explanations?

EDIT: Also the only buttons the were responding were select (change view which you can see being toggled in the video) and the start button.
 
I had it with my McLaren F1 on the TGTT as well. I think it is the same glitch as the pitstop autodrive, but as the test track has no pits it just occurs randomly. My car went round at a good pace as well, faster than I think my B spec could manage.

So in other words the car begins driving down the non-existent pit lane and then glitches and conitinues around the track?
