Alright so I've read that some patch has been released to prevent duping? Is there still a way?

Main reason I ask is because of the permanent BHP loss due to lack of oil change on long endurance races is a problem for me.

I do not want to ruin a car permanently that I've worked for so hard. Such as the X1 or the FGT.

Also, when is the lack of oil change damaging? When the oil light appears or before that?

IMO they should add a "Miles since last engine overhaul" statistic into the game, between many cars it is hard to track when the last overhaul was done. I'd like to do overhauls before the BHP reduction is started to keep my car in top shape all the time.

Engines will lose horsepower over time no matter what, even if you change the oil after every two or three races. I believe an engine rebuild restores the lost power, though.

No, there comes a time where even an engine rebuild will not restore the lost power.

I was reading somewhere on gamespot forums, someone did a test to see if this is true and they did the 24hr endurance races, had the lost HP (this was done on a 18k mile FGT to expedite results) and after oil change and engine rebuild the BHP was only restored to 932 and then 930 after 1500 more miles.

Here is one of the links, there was a more detailed one but I'd have to dig to find it.

Here

Edit: ahh well that sucks .... no more possibility of duping to prevent future headaches?

Because I have no clue how I would get another FGT or X1 after I burn through all the X1s achievable.

Buy a brand new FGT for 5 mill? They are in the OCD 24/7

As for the X1, you should have atleast 3 of them. And it takes about, what, 10,000 miles before a car starts to lose permanent hp? So just have one set up for grinding (I have an X1 with 40,000+ miles)

I really dont know what you are concerned about...

Coulda sworn I couldn't click it again after the first purchase. Never mind then lol

thx for all the input

Edit: Says sold out on the FGT *sadface*

You need to wait for the ocd to be updated again then if you've already purchased it from there. Then you can buy another one so long as it is there. It has been in pretty much every ocd update that I can remember.

Why worry about a worn out engine , if you can borrow a zero mile FGT / or other car from a friend or other account again and again. ;)

I've done some rubber banding and my original X1 has 30,000 + km's on it with a permanent power loss of less than 15 hp. I've also run it 8-10 hours without an oil change and the power comes right back when you do the oil change, although eventually you have to do an engine rebuild.

My Peugeot 908 has covered over 11,000 miles and still has 922 bhp, tha same from being run in at 150 miles, its done 2 24hr endurance races as well with full engine and chasis rebiuld after each 24 event and regular oil changes every 150 miles or so.

One of my FGT's has over 16k miles on it and has seen about a 8hp loss that stayed permanent. Engine rebuilding won't put it back up to 930. 922 is the best I can get.

I have to agree with what several other people have said. Even in real life the engine will start to permanently lose power. Everything will eventually wear down and stop working at full potential, even us.

And even if you permanently lose bhp from an engine, it's not going to be a huge 200+ bhp loss. It might be as small as 5 horses permanently leaving your engine. You might not even notice the difference :) 👍 .
