Car LP point bug after 1.49 update?

With the new tyres, I was expecting some cars to have their LP ratings updated, and that is indeed the case. I did however notice a weird, and certainly not intended, glitch, when ordering the cars by manufacturers: if I had 2 or more of the same car, in many instances one car was updated, and the other one kept its old rating, meaning that identical cars (e.g. both unmodified, with original tyres and 0 km) have different LP ratings. If there were 3 or more identical cars, most of the time, only one was updated. My gut feeling tells me that it usually is the more recently acquired car which gets updated, not the older ones.

That issue doesn't apply to all cars of which I have more than 1 copy. It is however possible that those cars didn't undergo an LP update anyway. I can share a list of cars affected if that is of any help.

I guess anybody with a relatively full garage should be able to reproduce the issue by sorting by manufacturer and then specifically looking at cars, of which he/she owns more than one copy...

Performance Point ratings under the new physics are not updated until you actually get into the car.

Sorry, but they have been updated for many cars on my list without me having ever entered them after the update. It is possible, even likely, that I have opened them (not driven in most cases, they are still at 0 km) in the past. I did however recognize many PP changes after the update within 1-2 days (when I first checked), and I had used only about 5 cars in that period.

I had kept an xls table also with the PPs, and some got changed. If I recall correctly, the BAC Mono for instance was subject to significant change, and I hadn't touched that car for a long time.

I have seen the same thing that you mention.

My thoughts as I was seeing this (for about half of my duplicate cars that were still stock) was that the game changed the PPV's to the new V1.49 value if you had never previously touched that particular car (perhaps it was a gift car), but if you had previously selected the car, even if you didn't put any miles on it, then the old PP value would be displayed until you once again selected the car post the V1.49 update.

I don't have a good way to test my theory, since over the last three days I have selected nearly all 500 cars in my garage, so they mostly all have the new PPV's now, since I wanted to compare the before and after PPV's.

Thank you very much for confirming - at least I am not alone in observing the glitch. In fact, your assumption matches mine. As I have not touched any car (except those I recenlty needed for racing), I shall be able to test the theory.

On the other hand, it is quite annoying that I am currently stuck with some cars with new PPs and some with legacy, which may or may not change when I touch the car. At times, that might even put cars out of contention of a PP-limited race to which they seemed to fit before touching them. I would say that is a bug Sony/Polyphony should mention and ideally fix.

Observation by recent comments (not tested by me):
PP of tuned cars doesnt update, likely because they are located in your playerprofile and there is no company reason to use this processing time if you dont use the cars.
PP of untuned cars needs to be updated, because this value is shown in the dealerships.

From that point of view it makes sense to work as it does, though it really is annoying to deal with

If you never get into a car in your garage, the PP will automatically update when PD changes it. If you ever got into a car in your garage, you'll need to get into it again to see the update.

It's been that way since the first set of PP changes. In fact, for several of the early updates, in the server maintenance notes, PD warned that one should complete championship events because of coming PP changes.
