My favorite one, the 22B, isn't even up here. I'll have to go with the 1994 model then. Looks good, and it made Subaru famous for performance and rally cars.

I'll go with the 1994, it looks the least ricey.

Incidentally, the ricey-est factory Impreza came from that generation, the S201.

You're missing the 2007 STi Hatchback model, @The87Dodge.

Also, I too vote for the 1994 model. Looks the best to me, personally. Here's how I'd rank the seven generations:
1. 1994
2. 2003
3. 2007
4. 2005
5. 2001
6. 2015
7. 2012

Had to go with the 2nd gen because I absolutely loved my old bugeye.

The 1st gen comes in at a very, very close second place, as does the third gen.

Voted 1994 but other generations looks OK too. I guess...

Can't. Compete. With the legend.

First gen by miles, not just because of being very memorable, but also because..of.. THIS.

A legend, never dies, in our heart. While the newest impreza almost took my vote or any of them, first gen is undoubtedly, the best for me.

First gen but not the one listed.

2003 because IMO it's the best looking of all the Impreza's.

Sorry for some omissions such as the facelifted GC8 and 2008 hatchback, although I deemed those to be too similar to the original and 2012 models respectively.

My all time favourite WRX STI has to be the 2004 Blob-eye.

How great does that look? The current standard models look terrible in comparison to the performance lines, but back then, the regular trims looked great in their own right.

My favourite is the first generation because of the 22B. Second favourite is definitely the blobeye, I want one badly.

It looks like my grandpa's old Corolla... That was a great car.

For whatever reason, there's always been something about that bug eyed 2001 model that I liked. Oddly enough, I've seen so much bashing of the front end of the car, I'm surprised it has as many votes in here as it does. Makes me not feel so weird.

The first generation Subaru Impreza WRX STI, though the late 90s Type R STI Coupe. Not the early STIs, they were a bit too plain looking.

If the point of the poll was just to differentiate the different generation, there should only be four options. You've got three GDs up there and only one of each of the others... at least according to Wiki. To me the current model just looks like a facelifted GR.

My money would go first to a '99 model, so I would have voted GC. Though I do love the "bug eye" and "hawk/eagle eye" GDs, as well as the GR hatchback.

1994 would be my first pick, I've always like the styling of it the best.

Also It remindes me of Colin McRae the most.

A GD without a spoiler is a sexy thing, but the GC is an example of a relatively simple design that is just about honed to perfection. It's also the progenitor (aside from the role the Legacy RS played), the lightest, the smallest, the purest, and available in two door form, so it gets my vote.

...Though I do love the "bug eye" and "hawk/eagle eye" GDs, as well as the GR hatchback.
If you don't love the "blob eye", that's why the GD gets three entries. Facelifts are facelifts, but the GD's facelifts are polarizing. Though it would be fair to say the GD is winning the poll overall, as of this post.

While I "love" the '99 STi, the '95 looks very dull... very Camry-ish. The difference is no less than that between the different GDs to me. I have an eye for detail, and the subtle changes in the GC made a big overall change for me.

Well, the point is that not everyone has an eye for the details on the GC, or would know what a GR is.

The details on the GC updates amounted to a reprofiled grille opening and a front bumper. The GD had three entirely different front ends.

It's just the way I see it. It's just light and bumper (and kinda hood) changes on the GD, so it still looks very much the same car to me.

Is this an appearance poll or a chassis/performance poll? Only minor updates would be made to a chassis within the same generation. When you put three models from the same generation on the table, things like heritage, pedigree, and performance go out the window.

The (US spec) 2004 and 2005 STIs were sorta different too, despite the same front end. The 2005 had rear arches to accommodate the slightly wider wheels and 1" wider rear track (17x8 wheels compared to 17x7.5 on the 2004. Wheels also had a 5x114.3 lug pattern as opposed to the 5x100 on 2004, making it impossible to find stock wheels on the 2004 in the US since this was the only year for that size).

Different interiors too. The interior on the 2004 was the same as the "bugeye" (except the steering wheel) STI that we never got in the US, whereas the 2005 STI had the same, or similar, interior to the 2006/7 "hawkeye" STI. Different steering wheel and center console. Also different STI badges between the 2004 and 2005 STI, but that's getting too picky. :)

(No idea what the point of this post is other than sheer boredom)

Ugh, the interiors. The one thing I don't like about Subarus. :indiff:

Sucks the bugeye didn't win, that one was my favourite
