Nope. It's a 20p resistor. If anything at all happens you'll get your car overfuelling.

 It did seem like one of thoes too cheap for what it's offering deals, I'd just spotted it a number of times before on different site's and got curious.

I suppose that's the catch with these things, people who don't know exactley what they are will look at it and think "ah well it's on a few quid, if it doesn't work I've not lost much" and buy it.

Hmmmm, seems a bit dodgy:
... It consists of a small electronic resistance device that is inserted between your Austin mini air sensor and the ECU. ...
Sorry, no ECU or air sensor in sight.

Q. How hard is it to install this device to my Austin mini ?

A. Installation on all cars models is a very easy DIY task that can be completed within 5 minutes. Full instructions are included.
OK, I'll bring my Mini around and watch someone install it in 5 minutes. What are they going to do, glue it to the firewall?

They have a list of what seems like every car on their site and it's obviously not applicable to all cars.

That says it all really. :indiff:

i went to that site an inquired about my car. it then gave me a lengthy bs-ed questionaire info sheet and a diagram of this control unit as a dial. a dial? and it says no tuning whatsoever is needed. what electronic control unit needs no tuning? i also provided me with a diagram of a ferrari application, but im sure its mechanically similar to my requested volvo unit. 👎 dont buy it

If you guys believe that, I have some beachfront property in Lesotho and a Jaguar XJ-13 I'll sell you...:dopey:

hahahaha, well, I guess there will be a few people looking for the O2 sensor and ECU on their cortinas, hillmans, and minis then! I wonder if they offer money back to stupid people?

It's a thirty cent resistor from Radio Shack that fools the ECU into thinking the air is something like 56 degrees at all times. So basically, one of two things will be happening at all times.

1 - If it's colder than the temperature the ECU thinks it is, the car won't run properly, and will make less power.

2 - If it's hotter than the temperature the ECU thinks it is, you'll be spitting out too much fuel, and will make less power.

well that makes sense!!!

for cheap power, do what I did! go to your local exhaust place, buy the pipe, then give you mate who is an awesome welder a carton and a packetof welding rods, and sit back, get drunk and watch him work his magic. I got the S/S 2.5" pipe from a steel wholesaler, so the whole thing cost me $50 coz he didn't need rods, and had planty of booze already (and I helped him but his 4-pot Brembos on his S13 Silvia Q's)

As others said, its rubbish and it will do more harm then good.

Nice, does the Q's have the stock engine or is it swapped?

Stock at the moment, but he's working on it! While I am working on getting my hands on a Skyline R32 (I would prefer an R34, but too expensive over here)
