Sorry if this came up before, could not find it with a search -

Have PD or Kaz ever explained the pricing of the cars? I wonder e.g. about the Countach being so much more expensive than the Enzo, or the F40 being so much cheaper. Isn't the F40 a rarer and more powerful car than the Countach? Are these prices close to the real world as of 2017?

My thing is they took a $2,000,000 Veyron and made it into a $350,000 GR4 car, makes no sense. GR4 cars are just normal production cars with minimal work done like adding roll cage etc.

I often wonder about that, with the Veyron in particular. I would suspect that proper (manufacturer) GT4 cars are made from mainly the same production car bits, not a fully completed production car. Or they'd be throwing loads away.

But given that the Veyron is one of the fastest road cars in the world (and fairly luxurious) I really don't see what Bugatti would ever achieve in real life by making a racing car that is significantly hobbled and cheaper in comparison.

For me I do get a bit annoyed with PD when they come up with made up rubbish like a Veyron GT4 and rally NSX, rather than something real we'd all prefer.

Aren't all Gr3 and Gr4 cars the same price? Probably to keep the competition even. But yeah, the bargain priced Bugatti doesn't make logical sense.

I believe so! PD enforcing price equality that doesn't exist in the real world. So in this case BoP = Balance of Payment!

The GR 4 Veyron is a heavily detuned Veyron. Not exactly a bargain. What genius would pay more for a GR 4 car that is slower than the production model?

The Gp.4 Veyron is a ridiculous attempt to shoehorn each manufacturer into Gp.4 and Gp.3 so that they can participate in the Manufacturers Cup.

IRL Bentley took a whole ton (of wood and shagpile carpets) out of their Continental GT for the GT3 so big transformations are possible, but GT4 is a low-modification series and I'm not sure how you'd really get down from a two ton, thousand horsepower barge to something which can compete on a level playing field with hot hatches and lightweight sportscars.

What genius would detune a Veyron for the GR4 class?

As it is now they're getting less than 500hp from a 8L W16 engine. Laughable

The Shelby Cobra SC is a bit of a stretch at 2,000,000 you wouldn't pay that in real life unless you were a mug...should have been a prize car its a bit arse backwards I've spent all my money :banghead:

A Ferrari F488 GTE has 150hp less than the of the shelf street legal car.
Cars like the Mercedes AMG GT4 or the Audi R8 GT4 have almost 100hp less than the street AMT GT-R or Audi R8 5.2 FSi. Or some other GT4 cars.

Like someone said, just PD opening the range to put as many manufacturers as possible in the the gr.3/gr.4 field to allow participation on FIA races. Like putting FWD cars on Gr. 4.
Of course is idiotic take on a 5 mil car, cut off its performance to fight againts Meganes and Sciroccos.

But, makes as much sense as having only 5 Lambo Veneno built in the world and everyone gets one in the game by making silver in all tests of driving school.

Well I already have got 3 as prize cars. The concept of prices and prize cars seems a bit iffy to me. On the one hand you don't get a lot of $ as prize money, so you have to save for quite a lot to get an expensive car, on the other you get expensive cars for free. Mileage exchange just adds to that mess.
I hope at least they add gifting between users at some point.

That was a good thing between friends on earlier versions of GT (car swaps/gifting) some cars were near impossible to attain (for some) lol

not sure how they priced the cars, but im assuming its based on a formula to do with reward system for GT arcade / careers in the past titles. they just kept the same formula for this title.
