Consumer Reports is not about sports cars, it's about providing info for people who want A-B cars.
Their all-car issue and individual year reliability ratings are invaluable when buying a car.
And if they're nitpicking on pointless things, then it's because there is pretty much nothing else wrong with the car.
Example, the Lexus LS460L.
It received a test rating of 99, the best I've ever seen them hand out, the only thing they could put as a negative was the agility, which is going to be expected for a giant luxury car.
