Car setup for steering wheels

I had just purchased a Logitech G25 and i'm having difficulties driving cars in Gran Turismo. The Steering wheel is great for feels and even better for accuracy however, i just can't drive the cars with it. No matter what car i use, when the rear slides out, i just can't control it anymore.

I noticed that FF cars have a major tendency to understeer and you really have to work with that wheel, while FR or any other *R cars just can't be controlled when they start to slide out. Correcting, releasing the gas, braking or any combination of this three is useless. I'm as useless as a scarecrow with a driving wheel in it's hands.

So, i started looking for tune setups which could help me put the power down easier, without the rear sliding out but i just can't find any (circuit)setup for the wheel. Could someone point me in the right direction?

The above tuner tunes with a wheel, is well known and respected.

Practice and more practice. Most of us went through the same issues you are having now. There will be a learning curve .

Have you adjusted the settings? What do you have the force feedback setting on? Most people set between 6-10.

Welcome to the world of sim racing with a wheel!...lol.

It is different but you have to stick with it as you'll get used to it. We all go through it making the transition from DS3 to wheel. Adjustments must be made to tunes to control the rear end coming out and to your driving style. One of the biggest differences between wheel and DS3 tunes is the amount of oversteer. With a DS3 when the rear end kicks out, in a matter of a tenth or two, you can go to opposite lock to correct it. With a wheel it's several tenths in both reaction time and physical movement. And so for most wheel drivers, we tune out that oversteer.

I suggest trying out some of Praiano's tunes or the tunes of any major garage that tunes with a wheel. I suggest Praiano's tunes because his driving style is similar to mine and his tunes work for me. Generally, but not always, wheel tunes will have much lower LSD settings on RWD cars to help keep the back end in check. If you PM the garage owners directly many of them will work with you and suggest cars with a very neutral character that are best to learn in.

Keep at it, you'll get the hang of it, and there is nothing like the pleasure you get from running lap after lap within a tenth or two on the same exact racing line, like you can with a wheel.

Thank you for your suggestions guys, i was completely disappointed at first with the way cars were driving with the steering wheel but it seems it's all in the tuning (and the skills).
The first problem i was able to correct was the feedback setting, as i had it set at 1. I changed it to 6 and it's a huge improvement. Secondly, i started tuning my cars using the setups available in Praiano's garage. I can only say this guy is a GOD! It's just a pleasure to drive them now. For example, at first, i wasn't able to keep on the track a 160bhp Nissan Silvia but now i just play around with a 350 BHP M3 CSL and it's so much fun.

P.S. Don't buy a steering wheel! It's addictive. I spent almost 10 hours in the last 24 playing Gran Turismo.
If you have any other setups, suggestions or links to other garage owners please leave a comment. Thank you.

Finally someone listens to advice!!!...lol:sly:

I've recommended many times to new guys to try out Praiano's Garage for relatively easy to drive tunes and you're the first one that actually listened. Good for you!!!:dopey:
