car sounds stopped working

ok so my problem is this...

i had my own music on my ps which i had set as BGM in menus and races, however doing a tidy up of my ps3 i deleted the music from it.
when i next loaded up gt5 and went into a race i received an error message saying music cannot be found(understandable since i deleted it) but its here i encounter my problem as there is no engine sounds at all in races.
i returned to the audio settings and turned off use own BGM setting but still i have no car sounds what so ever. the only sound is the original BGM


any ideas????????

Did you adjust the volume of the sound effects?

thankfully im not that stupid :) , but following advise from another website ive deleted all the updates and re installed them and thankfully it's working fine again

How do you delete all updates to force them to get re-installed?
