@motortrend : I think there is a slight difference in prices here and in Puerto Rico, atleast for the BMW. anyway, one last suggestion then, Volvo 940 tic turbo. they go faster than you ever thought was possible for a box on wheels, seriously. And atleast here in sweden, you can pick up a good one for under 2K.

thoughts on audi A4?
B5 -no.
B6 -yes.

Maybe I should also mention that I work as a vehicle inspection technician...
 
Coincidentally a B5 A4 Quattro was going to be my suggestion before I re-read the criteria about "no VWs" and got cold feet about it.

From past experiences it's one of the only Audis that's actually quite reliable.

Glad I found this thread. I'm in the market for a new car and found a '12 certified A4 Quattro Premium with 41,000 miles. One owner, very clean.

What are B5 and B6?

Sounds like a good buy, however those newer Audis tend to be a bit overpriced.

Google is your friend.;)

But since you are too lazy to google it, its the designation of the model generation.
Much like BMW calls their cars e36, e46, e90 etc.
