Neither if you want to stay on the track.

In fact, I'd much rather have a Zonda C12S 7.3. Given the average driver of a Veyron, chances are that if both were fully modded the Zonda would probably take the win. No joke.

I like my Speed 12, a bit understeery but the downforce helps it get around quite well, but I have little desire to add any power to it. The Veyron I found as hideous to drive as it is to look at... but didn't try upgrading that either.

The Veyron walks all over the Speed 12. The Speed 12 has no grip until 4th gear and it doesn't even have any handling in the first place. The Veyron may understeer worse than a house, but it's controllable at least and has plenty of grip thanks to having 4WD.

LOL.. Very true, 80% of the Veyron Drivers online are kids forgetting to use brakes.

This. It's not the car, it's the way people drive it, apparently not observing how incredibly fast it is, and expecting it to corner like it's on rails when it's approaching the corner about 50mph faster than anything else.

Any decent driver should test the Veyron against a few other fast production cars on a couple of tracks, and in my experience will find that it is the quickest by a good second or two.

It really amazes me sometimes what people seem to expect from this car, often pitting it against racing cars where it falls short. That's the whole point people, it was designed as a production car that is comfortable and you can live with.

The Speed 12 is a loonitics car , build by loonitics in the 90's

The Veyron loonitics car build by extreme 21st century engineers.

And you're from Blackpool? Judas! :)

Veyron. No real contest. Also, am I the only person who finds the Veyron at least mildly attractive?

I like the look of the Veyron, but I also like the look of the TVR. If I had only the choice of one car between those 2, I will choose the Bugatti. Still I am happy there is much better choice than those 2.

If we could get only one premium between those 2, Bugatti all the way.

Great Idea for a thread, keep them coming.

The Veyron looks damn sweet (I stood infront of one at an Autoshow) and is pretty impressive.
But at the Same Autoshow there was a TVR Speed 12.
And I was like

It is more impresive in Real life than ingame.
Plus the Background story of this Car is quite cool to read :D

7.7l 12 Cylinder => 960-1000+ BHP in the Year 1998-2000 and all testers said: "Straight out of Hell"

In addition I love the Topgear episode which featured this Car :D

If only a british car could make it down the street without falling apart :dopey:

I love the TVR much more than the Bugatti. It's more "pure." I remember that in the last days I played GT4 I finally managed to find the correct setup for the car. As contradictive as it might sound, adding a turbo to the Speed 12 improved the handling out of the corners. I'm not sure if this can be done in GT5.

But the Veyron works better in a logical point of view. No car with that amount of horsepower will ever be that smooth and progressive.

Hard decision... At the end I have to vote for what puts more smiles in my face. The monster with color-shifting skin.

The Speed 12 is just psychotic. Huge power, light weight and no drivers aids.
Which is why the Speed 12 get my vote :trouble:

Bugatti Veyron. It takes a good tune to get it to handle right and it is vicious in acceleration. The TVR is great looking, but even with the best tune you still cant turn it.

Difficult one... since they are two of my all time favourite cars...

Veyron for me...

VERY Contradictory.. but being GT5 sounds about right :p

It's the colossal amount of turbo lag at low throttle and low-medium RPMs that choke the engine power. It also makes the engine less responsive (a lot) so it's not as touchy in that rpm range.

If you're low enough in the RPM you can gun it at the apex and it'll only unleash power when you're completely through the corner and driving in a straight line!
:sly:

Of course the extra speed (and there will be extra speed) you gain on the straights will need to be compensated for, so you NEED to move those braking points further back. A lot of people don't do this, so they go barrelling into a corner in a TVR thinking they can make it at 250kph, crash, then blame the car. Driven smart, its long wheelbase and power mean it's capable through the corners and near unbeatable in a straight line from above 120kmh.

The main advantage of the Veyron is the seamless acceleration from 0 to 360km/h. By the time most things have caught up in speed, the Veyron's acceleration has resulted in a massive distance advantage. Another good point in its favour is acceleration out of corners; at any given apex, it'll beat most car that aren't prototypes to the beginning of the next corner.

TVR Vs Bugatti
its no contest - the TVR every single day of the week and twice on Sundays

why, cause more people can hope to get a TVR as opposed to a Bugatti, and when you do, there isn't anything like them

as for reliability, so far, no problems ... touch wood
but'll break down and cost lots to fix

but it'll work again, and will still ahve cost less that a Ferrari or a Porsche with similiar performance
