For instance, the 400 PP Race, allows cars in at 500 PP, but uses cars that appear to be around 350 P max ?

I preferred the old system - at least you could see what the fastest car PP was, and scale down accordingly to give yourself a challenge.

This time it appears to be just guesswork.

For me, the whole racing system is broken. The AI rubberband there way slowing and speeding up depending where you are in the race. Which on one hand will give the impression of close-ish racing, but on the other makes the whole pp/bhp system a farce.

I know that the chase the rabbit style of GT5 annoyed many here, but at least the AI were consistent in their lap times so that you could work within a pp range, tune your ride and challenge yourself to drive better laps to catch a rabbit that was just as fast as you.

In GT6 I've been 100-150pp lower and one or 2 tire grades lower and still winning!

This has got to be patched, surely??!!!

I think it depends on the race. Some PP races are strict and won't allow a car to be 1 point over the limit.

At least it was easier to gauge your opposition strength in GT5, as you could see the PP of your best opponent. But this time, it's just guesswork.

In one race, it was called "400 PP something or other", the "limit" was 500 PP, but judging by the cars (if they were stock), the fastest car was 350 PP ???

They just keep messing with this game, and it doesn't get better.

I liked how the seasonal events were in GT5, they give you a PP limit, and that was pretty close to catching up to the first guy with ~1 lap remaining.

Yeah, I agree this is ridiculous and this has be patched!
