I was never a fan of the whole winter/snow idea of PCars 2. It was ok for me as long as it was optional. But now, its not. I have reached the Euro GT3 german trophy and the game puts me on ice in Oschersleben. With a 911 GT3 R. Its nonsense, not only because in reality, no one would do a GT3 race in deepest winter. The car is undrivable on the snowy surface, even with winter tyres.

I was afraid of this: SMS sacrifying realism just for showing off their snow nonsense. Snow with rallye cars is fine but GT3...? How are we supposed to finish these events?!

Snow is broken. Icy tyres not working. In the official website the bug is reported ad known. I suggest to quit career till patches are out. Also formula rookie, Ginetta gt5, Clio Cup and weather invitational events are unplayable due to bugs related to tyres.

I quit mine after junior Ginetta. A pity that the game has less but way critical bugs than pcars1.

I dont understand this new obsseision with wanting to race in extreme conditions. I blame Forza 6 with their insane puddles which would see races abandoned. Seems Sms just want to go a few steps crazier than T10 just for the sake of it rather than making the game better.
First I have ever heard of that. The 3D puddles have not impacted me in that manner at all.

It's nothing new, developers have always pushed new features even if it makes no sense in the scenario where it is present. T10 and SMS are just the latest.

I can't even hold the car on the road. I can't control it at all. The AI is way faster altough some off them spin out right at the start. But like i said, the car is undrivable. I wonder what SMS were thinking. Did they even test this?

Set a.i. to 0, aggression to 0, assists on. Race time 5 minutes no practice or qualy. STay only in first gear most of the race, except on the straights go into second, and concentrate on steering and not sliding. This or do u.s. Gt3 instead.

But I agree. Dumb race, unrealistic.

Well, i skipped that race. O points, 0 fun. The second race in february offers normal conditions with rain.

Yep, it's all T10's fault that the snow races in Pcars 2 are unplayable.. You going to blame all the bugs and glitches on T10 too? Oh wait, it probably is their fault, you see FM7 is coming out next week, if it wasn't maybe SMS could of delayed the game a month(or six) or so to fix some of the issues. :odd:

Is the Formula Rookie officially bugged?

Source?
It has snowy races in it and snow is broken. Also dry slick tyres are not working forcing to drive with wet tyres to heat the compound. Wet races are fine. Try yourself. I tried.

The same goes for Ginetta gt5 slicks and Clio Cup slicks. Tried all. Clearly something wrong.

Now i don't if is the AI not affected by conditions or players tyres being bugged.

Ginetta junior is fine expect for the last snowy race. 9 races out of 10 Can be done easily. Nice series.

Hope It helped. I quit career.

Hey, at least they're not trying to race on the moon! :O :sly:

Was a bit afraid of this as soon as I heard snow would be included. As an option it's great. As an invitational event or two it's great. As part of the regular career races it's a bit iffy even if it does work right. Making the main career races scripted weather-wise is just plain badterrible all the way around, but non-snow cars on snow should be something very rare(and as such -- exciting instead of annoying).

There was already 500%(rough estimate) too much rain in PC1 and much too often it would start and stop within the span of the way-too-short career races making things even more silly... on top of the AI having an impossible ability to drive in heavy rain on slicks. Weather effects are cool. Forced overuse of weather effects is not. If we have the itch to drive in the rain we can set it up ourselves.

But I suppose it can be dealt with one way or another and it's hardly unexpected. I don't have the game yet(pretty sure I will soon-ish) so hopefully by the time I do the buggy bits will at least have been worked out.

It would've been a good idea if they put any kind of thought into the programming of the game. Allow whatever the player wants in a quick race, but in the career winter races should be only with rallycross cars, truck and the like. It's just lazy development.

What are the chances of the snow being taken out of career for the GT3 And Formula races ?

It's daft and I'm being polite , that idea should of been squashed by someone on the team before it left the draft board.
Cmon guys seriously

The snow races are daft, but the heavy wet stuff? Nah, just come to the UK, we wouldn't get much racing done if we stopped for rain (even the heavy stuff).

Every time I go to a Motorsport event I get soaked , either that or mild hypothermia like at Silverstone for the Brit car Championship . Good old British weather

I wasn't sure if it was an issue or a design decision to incorporate those conditions to those races , Being a day 1 Pcars owner I know they will sort the majority of issues / bugs I have plenty of faith in that

I have only been doing formula rookie career so far and the weather has only changed once per event so far (e.g. starts dry and changes to rain or vice versa). Also with live track 3 you can definitely see the evolution of the track as it gets wetter (and it's still not that bad to drive on). I wouldn't base your decision to buy pc2 on your experience with pc1 combined with people here saying there is weather in pc2. They are completely different animals in this regard.

Very high, like next patch.
The big problem is not having snow, but the fact that AI seems uneffected (or players tyres do not work properly) by weather and temperature. In Cold but dry situation your tyres do not heat up (example Ginetta gt5) while AI Can fly.

I'd say racing an open wheeler or a GT3 in the snow is a pretty big problem and something that shouldn't be forced on the players in a career race.

Bad wording from my side. I mean you can still play the game is not a bug killing the playability of the entire career mode (now It is because snow seems to be broken).

I raced a audi r8 at lemanns at night during a blizzard. Car seemed fine enough. Are you guys using wheels. Might be difficult to catch it from sliding in time using a pad.

You have to be light on the throttle, and light on the steering. I doubt you can hold a steering wheel straight while driving on ice irl, you have to transfer that technique to a pad.

I just hope all the upcoming patches don't turn it into forza 7. Game seems perfect to me as is, ice and all.

I'm using a G29 and no, that 911 on ice cannot be driven at all. Even if this would be possible, all things snow and ice should be a no-go for GT3, open wheel and similiar classes. Whats next? LMP 1 on ice? F1 in Monaco with a blizzard? Give me a break.
