Can anybody tell me what car is good for the 1970 and under race in Professional hall because I've tried two cars, (mercury cougar, and chevelle) and they both seemed to have sucked. I've also tuned both of them up really good but I seem to always get smoked. Whats going on?

HELP, thats the only race left for me to complete in pro hall besides the Final one!

Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray '69, Jaguar E-Type Coupe '63. Think those 2 are the best cars for this cup. Or if you have the money you could try a Cobra too. Then you would definately win.:)

Good luck.;)

I used a Charger.

I think I used a green Mercury Cougar XR-7 '67 (500hp) I found in the used lot.

I used the old Jag. A wonderful vehicle. I tuned it to the max however, and still couldn't keep up with the AC / Cobra on any straight-section. I simply reloaded the races until there wasn't a Cobra to race against :-)

AC Cobra. Stock, and won easily. 👍

In my first go at GT4 (gotup to 13% and started over) I tuned the cougar to about 450HP and changed the tranny for an adjustable one. Then set the gears to auto 16 (I think). Finally change the brakes and the exhaust. This configuration out accelerates and outbrakes the cobra but it is not as forgiving on the turn entries. It does let you accelerate earlier than the tail happy cobra though.

Liar.

This race does NOT allow race cars. You really are an immature little child, aren't you?

Ginetta, What the hell, that car sucks and I sold it the instant I got it. Thanks guys, I think I found a car that'll work. :)

The Ginetta is an awesome car. Fully modded it'll beat most cars and it's fun to drive.

Shelby Mustang 350GT
AC Cobra
Jag E-type coupe
Ginetta G4 <-lightly tuned, beast around corners might wanna tinker with th gearbox & give it more power to give it more straight line speed and top speed for faster tracks

I agree that it is an awesome car. I like that it starts drifting the moment you hint a turn. Knowing that I get it drifting about 100 yards before turns and just slide through the turn at full throttle.

But it is not fast enough in stock form to win the classicc series in pro hall.... no sir.

The Ginetta is an amazingly fun car. It feels so light when you get any kind of speed in it, so you need alot of confidence to use it. But, yeah. It'll drift everywhere, even if you want to move your 'lane' on a straight. But I beat the A/C around Nurburging in it in the Classic Car Cup in Euro Event, with my fully modded one. Which is around 250hp if I recall...

Buick Special. And it is special. Turn off all aids and let 'er rip. the smokeshow is great.

Me, I used the '65 Shelby GT350R the first time. Then I decided to do it again, and then I used the '70 Chevelle SS 454. Both were NOT stock. The only thing I did, was change oil (free hp), full customize gearbox, triple plate clutch, racing flywheel, limited slip differential (LSD), driveshaft, racing suspension, brakes, balance controller, nitrous (because I'm cheap..), increase ridgidity, and I also added a Stage1 NA Tune Up on both. And put Sport Mediums on it. 👍 Both cars rip.. :) Ahhh the love for American Muscle. :sly:

I used a modified Chevelle. The series was easy at the exception of the Infineon race

As much as I hate to stand up for this numptie, the '69 GT40 is eligible for this series as long as it's got sports tyres on.

Not the stock one right?
Mine had full weight reduction and horsepower. I took it to the mod shop on a whim and ended up just buying everything and laughing insanely (219 hp and 412kg, IIRC). I was able to use it in a whole ton of races though, so I think I got my moneys worth.
I've just got to say, flying around the 'ring at 250 km/h in a 400 kilo car with no downforce and 40 year old suspention is scary stuff :scared: And fun!

hey charger!
ran this plenty of times in a stock charger and never really caught the AC. I gave up and threw a supercharger in. :)

so take ! stock charger, add super charger and hey presto!, series won :D

I'm having some problems with that championship right now. Not winning, but finding a car that can win and also get 200 aspec points for each win. I was able to get 150 (or close to that number) with a tuned 1970 Toyota Celica, so long as the AI is driving the Buick Special, the AC Cobra, and similar high powered cars.

A heck of a race to be sure, but that celica is darned good around the corners, and doesn't do too badly in the straights if you've still got some NOS.

What I can't seem to get is a 200 point race. Either that buick special or cobra beats me (usually the cobra) to the finish line, or I can't get 200 points for each race.

As for cars that can win, Jeez... the list is pretty darned big. Any muscle car, any real sports car, and almost any old rice burner with enough modifications can win.
