cars limit????????

they could have thousands of cars but if you cant get them all whats the point? In gt2 there was 500 cars but you could only have like 100. in gt3 they gave you enough room to hold all the cars and some extras. I hope in gt4 they have it son yon can have all the cars. This would take up alot of memory card space but even if you han to have 1 memory card just fot gt4. The funist thing and most enjoyable thing for me in gt3 was finaly geting all the cars and i hope they let you do this in gt4.
 
yeah, i mean thats the idea of the game to get a 100% . a nd to do that you need to have all the cars, so why limit it? any way im getting a seperate memory card for gt4, cause i dont want to lose my precious gt3 game file!!!!!!
 
It's limts on the memory, but I don't see why they cant have it so it'll use more card space once you've filled up the first lot.
 
PS2 mem cards are 8mb, so there's ample space for well over 500 cars on one card, judging by the size of GT3 saves. As all the game actually stores are settings and parts, the car's appearance and basic specs being only stored on the disc, it would be theoretically possible for you to save about sixteen (?) or so full GT3 saves on one card, so maybe up to ten GT4 saves, if it really is that much larger. I personally think they've limited us to one savegame per card to cut down on garage tricks like our well-known two mem card trick. Doesn't stop us from doing it, but at least it forces us to pay for another card in order to do so.

I'm curious now. I'll check a backed-up gamesave to see how big it really is at 100% with 200 cars included.

Nice... well done for dredging up a month+ dead thread to make absolutely no contribution to it at all.
 
i want them to make it so that we could hold about a double of the total cars that can be acquired...that way we could make every car have grip and drift settings
 
I like moshter11's idea... I have about 3 different cars of the same for one car in GT3 (though i cant remember which off hand)
Plus... GT3's save is 200KB for about 200 cars worth. For 1000 cars it would be about 1MB. Still only two thirds of WRC2 extreme's whopping 1.5MB!!
 
gt4's gonna use the hard-drive, so copy it to mem card when you need to take it somewhere, otherwise leave it on the hdd. (presumptions, but its not a stupid idea you'll be able to do this eh?)
 
I wish the garage in GT3 could hold about 250 cars. I've had to sell many cars i didn't want to. :(

The 35+ Skylines take up a fair amount of room (have a R32 GT-R in every colour. :D).
 
If it the file will really take up that much space maybe thats where the harddrive my help us?

Hope we can download cars made by PD for it!!!
