X What?
This game feels, plays and looks great don’t get me wrong. But when there is a car right behind you and you look in your rear mirror the car behind looks like a old game out of the 80’s. That wasn’t the case a while ago. A while ago you couldn’t see the dust jump off in the rear mirror when you touched the grass and now you can. But now the cars look awful in the rear mirror.

Anyone notice the same?

Ive noticed, however assume this is something PD will have 'fixed' by the time GT5 is released. Seriously I dont expect that quality of grahpics in GT5.

The quality of the stuff in the rear view mirror is proportional to the distance between you and the object.
If a car is riding your bumper the quality is good.

Don't know if this'll change in GT5, because it would need a lot extra processing power to show everything in high quality, and still have a depth of field.
A high quality object appearing small in your mirror will also make it look very jaggy.

Don't agree. The closer they come, the worse it is. You can’t see the details from a distance. But when they come close. :yuck:

You cant see tire smoke in the rear view mirror ethier.

Online beginer K cars it's really bad. Looking through rear view the cars look like they have been damaged.

I highly doubt the rear view image will get any better, and at the cost of performance (rear view mirror takes a fair hit going by PC games that give you the quality and quantity option), No thanks!

You obviously havent seen them how they used to be prior to GT5P.

I care less, as long you know its a BMW or a AUDI behind you its good enough to me. 👍

I agree that the graphics are awful in the rear mirror, but I guess its for saving the CPU load. but one thing I don't understand i how, the right mirror on RX-8 (or maybe any other rhd) shows what's happening on the left side of the car ex. car approaching (that's impossible) - or maybe It was just me...*go checking it out again*

That's because the mirrors don't show your own car. Otherwise your rear view mirror would show parts of the back seats, windows or engine compartment.

I don't care about mirrors when there are still things like grossly pixelated shadows, fences, front grills and spaces between body panels on every car in the main scene.

I don't use the mirrors because i drive with roof camera and i simply press L1 button if i want see who's behind me :)

So...both right mirrors and left mirrors doesnt "work"? could be quite confusing when you see a car on your right-mirror comin up fast - then making space by moving to the left - but he's acutally left on your left. I would like to have that fixed.

Can you explain to me why PD can't make this possible easily while Fallout 3 can render the WHOLE MAP in amazing quality on your screen at once?

I find Mirrors a distraction when racing, anything to do with looking backwards puts me out of focus. I've even removed the button for looking back, so I can't even if I tried!

I think you're spending too much time looking in the rear view mirror. How do you see what's coming up ahead? :p

I guess that must make you one of those drivers who side-swipes me when I'm overtaking. If I'm beside you and have the inside line you should adjust your line accordingly to avoid an accident. You need to know what's going on all around you to race cleanly.

that's right!!!!!!!!!! 👍

that's the price of 60 frames per second. You gotta cut somewhere, and rear mirrors is an easy way to start.

Never side-swiped anyone overtaking, its so rude too. I use mirrors when I see a dot on the map comming close but if i'm racing in space they are a distraction, thats what I meant.

Dont spend that much time looking in the mirrors... maybe a split second at a time... so its not that big of a worry to me... they have plenty of other stuff they need to get right... 👍

It's a driving simulator and in real life you have mirrors regardless of whether you have cars around you or not, not much you can do about it. They're there for a reason.

They don't look THAT bad... certainly not stunning, but hey, it's just a rear-view mirror.
Do you not remember how bad the rear-view mirrors looked in past GT games? All kinds of corners were cut!
