Cars that didn't ship with disc?

What cars were you looking forward to that didn't ship on launch? I heard only 340/1000 cars actually came on launch and the rest will be DLC. The reason I started looking into this is because I would kill for an Eagle Talon on here.

There's actually an Eagle Talon in my Used car dealership right now I think?

Edit: Yup, just got it. It's an Eagle Talon Esi '97 to be exact.

It'd have to be Thursday as I have a trade tomorrow and am now hearing you can only do 1 every 24 hours.

I don't know where you got your information but that is some of the worst conjecture I've seen about the game yet.

The correct information is there are 1000 cars available for use in the game, about 200 of which are premium meaning they have better models, improved damage modeling and fully rendered interiors.

And there is a Talon Esi in the game but not a Tsi.

Go visit the used car dealer in GT Life. That's where the rest of your cars are. The Talon seems to show up fairly regularly for purchase.

I understand there are 800 Standard and 200 Premium. I may be in community college, but I'm not THAT dumb, dude. haha I'm clearly stating what I've heard/read from multiple sources. oh well, whatever. People flame way too much on here over small mistakes. lol And yes, I've been to UCD MANY times. I have yet to see a Talon. My girl keeps bugging me about it since I told her it was in the game. lol

Sort of back on the original topic, there are a lot of cars in the game that I don't even know of yet. They take a while to show up and it's random if they show up at all.

I would love to see a Pantera De Tomaso in here though... Of and some Pontiac Firebirds too.

I wasn't trying to flame you. Although I'd love to know where you got your information so that I never go there. The way you posed your question made it sound like you thought there were 340 cars in the game available for purchase with credits and the other 660 can't be bought yet.
 
I heard that from gamefaqs and playstation[dot]com, as well as, a few other sites/forums/people.
 
Well, the people you heard it from are wrong. There are 200 Premium cars; these are the cars found in the dealerships. And there are 800 Standard cars, which can be found in the used car lot, though not every car appears there at once.

I haven't yet seen an EXA Canopy L.A. Version Type S '88 in the used car lot. I've seen it in races, but not for sale - in the U.S. this was known as the Pulsar, only with the optional square back hatch.

I don't think it was left off the disc, just wondering if anyone's seen it in the used lot?
 
I haven't seen it in the used lot, but it is a pretty popular car for the AI to use in the 80's Japanese Cup.
 
Also, how would be possible to add cars that are not on the disc by DLC? I mean then you could not go for online race with those cars, because other players does not necessarily have that DLC with that car. Or maybe it would be restricted for offline racing only?
Just guessing...
 
I don't believe all 800 standard cars cycle through the used dealership because after almost every race I go to to check the new additions and I see way too many of the same cars I've seen before and am certain I'm cycling between the same 300 standard models.
