Cars the represent each GT title

I've got a little art project in mind and to accomplish my vision I need to know what single car best represents each Gran Turismo game. For the PS2/3 generation the covers make is pretty easy. GT3 has the RUF RGT, GT4 has the Ford GT, GT5 has the MB SLS AMG, and GT6 has the Chevrolet C7 Corvette. GT1 and 2, as far as I know, don't have distinguishable cover cars.

There are other examples as well. For instance, in GT3 the Tom's Castrol Supra is heavily represented and in GT5 the Nissan GTR and Corvette ZR1 get a good amount of attention too.

I want to hear peoples input on what car best suits the title and the "halo car" for any given Gran Turismo title.

Sorry if this is in the wrong thread. I'm not sure where I should put a topic that spans the entire GT series.

GT1 - R33 Skyline
GT2 - S2000
GT3 - Either the RGT, Viper Team Oreca, Castrol TOM'S or Pennzoil Nismo (Personally, I'd go with the Pennzoil)

The rest are spot on though.

I'd say the Honda S2000 was the "star car" of Gran Turismo 2. It was the one prominently glorified during the intro scene - there were flashy glimpses of the car in motion, including it powersliding through a corner and having a wheelspin. It was put between the classic motor racing scenes during the beginning - it's like they're trying to convey that the car deserved great recognition. Juxtaposing it with the classic Le Mans racers and Grand Prix cars seemed to say that the verve of the car was at least, in spirit, comparable to those legendary racing machines. They're really trying to make the S2000 stand out. It's also the car shown on the title screen for arcade mode.

But, it's just my interpretation.

1 - Skyline R33 GT-R
2 - Honda S2000
3 - Tom's Castrol Supra
4 - Ford GT
5 - Nissan GT-R R35
6 - Corvette C7

1. Honda NSX
2. Honda S2000
3. Viper Team Orcea
4. Ford GT
5. SLS AMG tied with the GT-R and GTbyCriterion
6. Corvette C7 tied with the Benz Vision GT
Mobile -> Corvette Z06

Whoa. Let's think this through.

GT1 - Mitsubishi GTO. Because who's not guilty of taking that thing up to 258 on the test track?
GT2 - For me, it's got to be Pikes Peak Escudo. I remember being eleven years old, taking one look at that thing, and saying "I have to have it. It's a spaceship."
GT3 - F094/s. Tons of work to get it. But it was so worth it. (I did the seattle endurance race 40 times before winning the F/687s)
GT4 - 1962 Buick Special. Supercharge it and the wheels spin in fourth. Plus you can buy it right off the bat if you had a GT3 save.
GT5 - Ferrari 330P4. That damned car kicked my ass every time I did the classic race event, no matter what I was driving. Heavenly exhaust note.

Now the more sensible list.

GT1 - 1967 Corvette Stingray - Instant domination of arcade mode.
GT2 - Skyline R32 GT-R with a racing modification. Need 591 horses? easy. Only need 290? Easy as well. Either way, you win.
GT3 - Ford Escort Rally Car - Domination of all rally circuits. The rally license was the only one I got Gold on the entire way through.
GT4 - Ford GT. Kazunori himself has two. There's a reason it was on the cover. It's that good.
GT5 - 1987 Mugen Motul Civic. Easily the most fun car I've had in any of my files in any GT game.
