The Jag XJ220 Race Car (or something) has just popped up in the UCD. There is no year on it (although the description starts with its history in 1988).

Would I be able to race this in the Historic Race Car Challenge (1979 or earlier)? It's the only one I haven't finished in expert level.

I know there's a very good Toyota available in B-Spec, but I'm way off the level required...

Thanks.

No. Use the Camaro and you should win it without too much trouble.

Thanks all! The car is about 1.95 million, so I don't want to buy it for nothing....

It's the XJ220 RM Race Car... where the year would normally be, there are two dashes.

The Camaro looks good but I haven't seen one. Or is it in the dealer's?

After saving up and buying an XJ13, I was disappointed to receive one for winning the Indy 500. If you can hold off until tomorrow, I'll give you one of them.

mygrantursimo.net has the car dated 2001.

The XJ220 Race Car was originally created for GT3 if I remember, therefore it would be a 2001 car. Some of the other cars that where made for GT3 don't have a visible date shown in GT5, such as the Altezza and Impreza Touring Cars. These would most likely be from 2001 as well.

Neither has the Formula GT which was created for GT4 (under the name Polyphony Formula Gran Turismo '04)

Well, I didn't buy the Camaro.... I opted for the 750k (ish) Art Morrison Corvette '60. Yep, down as a 1960 vehicle.

Spent some cash tuning it up a little more....

So.... went to join the Historic Racer's event, and the computer said.... no.

Imagine my disappointment:sick:

All that money, and nowhere to race.... it looks nice though.

The thing with that is that Art Morrison remade the car for the GT Awards in 200x (Forget the specific year), so that's the year it will be down as.

It's a 1960 Corvette, '06 for example. That is, an old Corvette rebuilt in the modern age, so it's not eligable for the race. Same story with the GT Awards 1970 Mustang.

And yeah, the XJ220 'Race Car' is a Gran Turismo concept. It exists in GT2 as well. I'd prefer the standard car, to be honest; that's the description for it anyway. Strange.

The Camaro isnt nearly as good as the RM'd Challenger, it has more than 200 HP more.

The Challenger is faster in a straight line, but the Camaro will consistently put down quicker lap times. This is especially the case in the Event he's having trouble with.
