these are the cars I would love to see in Le Mans 2012
These 10 would be in lmp 2
1.ADR Engineering ADR3 (the easy one in the lmp 2 class)
2.a.d. Tramontana R (the slow heavy f1 like car in the lmp 2 class but with its top speed in would have a edge)
3.BAC MONO (A mini x2010 with cornering abilitys of a jet fighter but with a low 170 mph would be a problem aginst other cars).
4.Gillet Vertigo .5 Spirit (one of the top 3 cars in the class and would be the hardest cars to beat in lmp 2.).Also take all of the bad things about the vertigo and turn them in to positives.
5.Hennessey Venom GT (one of the top 3 cars in lmp 2 and its more powerful than most lmp 2 cars and its speed would cause problems for most cars like the BAC MONO).
6.Hulme.F1 Champion (The true f1 like car in lmp 2 and grip and fuel economy are its weapons).
7.Hulme CanAm (The final top 3 lmp 2 cars and if Hulme.F1 Champion was not enough this car is enhanced in every way).
8.Juno Racing SS3-V6 ( the slowest lmp 2 car with a max speed of 140 mph but its that cost that made it possiable for everything else to be focused on and it would be at the back bumper of the BAC MONO at every corner.)
9.Caterham RS V8 Levante (The ultimate caterham with a v8 500 bhp engine that could eat anything up in its path except its limited to 150 mph.But still a serious car that would put the other cars on their toes.)
10.Yamaha OX99-11 (the car with all the F1 gagets but as a hyper light performance car that would cause alot of problems along the way)

These 10 would be gt1.
1.B.Engineering Edonis (would master the strights and the outs of corners)
2.Leblanc Mirabeau (would be one of the to 3 cars to beat)
3.Noble M600 (be a above avarage opponet and could cause a stir.)
4.Orca C113 (It would be like a 2012 GROUP C Road Car and would also be one of the top 3 cars to beat.
5.Ultima GTR720 (it would be like a gillit with good cornering and grip)
6.Dodge ASC Diamondback Viper (slower than a dodge viper asc in speed but would out do it in every way)
7.Auto Veloce Ferrari F430 SVR(Anyone order a F430XX well this is it but would be a strong compeditor of a Dodge ASC Diamondback as its top speed would be about 186 mph.
8.Lotus Exige/Elise Extrema (would be the last of the top 3 gt1 class cars and would put up a massive fight to the Leblanc)
9.Chevrolet Corvette Specter Werkes C6 GTR (The compleate opposite of a Dodge ASC Diamondback Viper as it is just speed based)
10.FAB Design McLaren MP4-12C Terso (its all grip and high speed in tight corners it would be the closest rival of a Auto Veloce Ferrari F430 SVR)

My gt 2 Class cars would be
1.Chevrolet Corvette DP (avarage speed 186mph but its talents lie in its aerodynamics and cornering and its acceleration)
2.Mazda RX-792P (Would be in top 3 gt2 cars and has alot of characteristics or the 787b but is alot more tame ie. more heavy and has detuned 490 bhp engine)
3.9ff GT9-CS (lets just say it could beat the bloody hell out of the 458 race cars and all usa cars.Porsche just up their game to and with a 680 bhp engine and a ultra light weight body.
4.9ff GT9-R (with 1120 bhp and only built for speed and if only it could get 400 meters up the track without a tyre meltdown its ok a superb with 257 mph but it would need parachutes to slow down at cornering is terrible so this is the easyist car to beat in the gt2 class).
5.RUF RGT-8 (a car that could easly put the Chev DP in its place with a above avarage performance)
6.Raeder Audi TT RS (want a close race and a torque monster with a diesel engine and great fuel milage and a 4wd this is the way to go)
7.Tushek Renovatio T 500 (Corvette DP other rival and would take over most of the field along with the porsche based cars.)
8.Evans 486 LM (the would be the 2nd top 3 gt2 cars. With sheer lightness and cornering , accelration , speed through corners and awsome 100-0 timeing this car has only one place in the gt2 class and its in front.
9.Evans 386 LM (the final top 3 gt2 cars its the same as the 486 but better vision and is lighter).
10.2012 Ford Shelby GT500 widebody (.......................just another boring waste of space)

Homologation says that the majority of those cars would never be allowed to compete. Also the manufacturers who make those cars would not allow another company to compete with them.

Also, the process to make them legal for racing would most likely remove any advantage they have over street-going counterparts.

EDIT: And that's just some general things that make this list outlandish. You have to understand that the rules will not allow diesel, all wheel drive or pure tube-framed chassis in many regards.

I am just saying dis-regarding all the no this no that

Well, you can't disregard it because then people would show up with whatever they wanted. Homologation exists for a reason.

these cars have about 200 of them made minus the edonis which has 21.
And if I am saying gt1/ gt2 /gt3 BUT dont forget lmp1 and lmp2 and these cars could hardly outrun a porsche/dauer/koneig c62/962

first good answer and it was on topic

Id love to see some form of Pickup truck be homologated to GTE spec. It won't happen, for obvious reasons, but I'd still get a laugh out of it.

I find it interesting that the OP makes reference to cars which are already made... the McLaren, for example.

Maybe something rather large, like a BMW 7-Series. That would also be pretty neat.

Other than that, pretty much every performance car has a Super Touring/GT/Grand AM version already.

Welcome to GT Planet, please clean up your syntax!

The FIA says at least 1000 of the type of car you wish to make into a GT car.

For rally, theres a minimum number of base cars, and then 10% of those have to be a STi or Evo-type deal.
