Caterham has revealed plans to launch an all-new model at the Autosport International show next month.

The firm is providing few clues as to the identity of the new model, but has said the model will not be another variant of the Seven and will be the first all-new Caterham since the 21 from the 1990s.

Powered by Caterham’s next-generation Motorsport engine, the car will be pitched at the track day and racing markets and is a “logical expansion” to the firm’s current portfolio of models.

The firm is promising the new model will stay true to the "lightweight, minimalist DNA of the legendary Seven".

I wonder if it will be open wheel or going more the way of Lotus in terms of design. I just hope they keep the round headlights.

Always had a bit of a thing for Caterhams. Even that hideous chrome-painted 21 they made.

Whereas Lotus wants to become the new Ferrari. 👎 We'll see how that works out...

Fixed that for you. ;) Maserati is way below where they are currently aiming for!

I'm happy if this means they do indeed fill in the gap left by Lotus.

Its arrived!!! Was expecting a road car not Le Mans!:eek:

The SP/300.R co developed with Lola. Doesn't look like any old Caterham DNA has made it through which kinda sucks.

Robin.

Wow, nice, I have to wonder though what Caterham actually did with that car design-wise and whether its simply another branded Lola, just like the LMP1 Aston Martin from last year.
I would imagine Lola would have done most of the work on it.
