Watching the video above there is some nice driving but in certain corners the driver is losing a lot of time (T1, arguably the most important on the track, and T10), but the drivers line through the bus stop chicane (which PD should make an invalid lap) is near perfect, though dirty dirty dirty, until PD makes it a red zone i guess it is the fastest way. There are certaintly quite a few more seconds to be gained from the car in the video though.

Those having issues stuck at 2:54, are you using the same settings/tyres as the guy in the video?

I need to give this a try, Its been a while since I got in the caterham, been too busy driving the Super GT cars and the Mustang, Radical and MX-5 on iRacing (at Spa also!)

Hi Bigbazz

Oh yeah there is plenty of time to be had on these two laps in the video above, purely made it to show the Cat around Spa. This is running on Sports Soft tires, stock car, as thats what we are using for a race at GPF in our club this weekend.

Straight after I took this video I ran a 2:44.389 :)

Some nice driving, no doubt! I certaintly learned something from your bus stop chicane, but I can't help myself from pointing things out if I see them! I am by no means able to extract the most out of any car at the track, but I love Spa and enjoy watching people drive it, nailing T1 was a major breakthrough for me in maximising laptime. Unfortunately I have yet to master the bus stop chicane.

No worries and thanks, I'd agree getting La Source breaking point is crucial to a good lap, you can stuff it up right there :) Also the run through Bruxelles and Pouhon (10,11,12) Ive yet to get spot on.

I just love the Caterham especially here and Nordschliefe

Changed to sports softs and got better 2:45

I was just messing around at Spa while playing online with a UK host, and I pulled out my little Caterham and set it up in cockpit view. I took it for a spin and I must say, you really get a sense of wonder when you look at Spa. If you haven't already tried this, give it a go. It will shine a new light on GT5. This was the most fun I've had in GT5 in a while.

I have done, and it was excellent. Try giving it more power and adjust transmisson, then it's really fun becaues you get really quick!

Had a blast around there in my chromed Caterham the other day its a nice experience, Shame its abit slow though doesn't quite have the right pick up sadly :(.

I tune it and and I have the transmission wildly set so that I'm redlining at 4th gear at the end of the straight. I can get it up to insanely high speeds.

I did a few laps in the caterham on Spa. Lots of fun in the cockpit, but when you watch the replays it feels so much slower and lacks the excitement your having actually driving. Still very fun, Yellowbird is still number one for Spa fun to drive and fun replays :)

Don't know if this is the right place to put it, but i frequently host Caterham Seven rooms on GT5, admittedly at random times, can't be fixed because of the hectic nature of my busy life, but feel free to join and have some fun tuning up or racing round Spa in these incredible machines.

Just picked up a Caterham 7 Fireblade in the ucd. Overhauled the engine and restored rigidity and took it out on the Nordschleife.

Wow... probably the best standard I've seen in GT5 so far.

The last time I drove a Caterham was in Simbins Race 07 and it was an ok experience but GT5 really does this car justice. Great Stuff.

Nice bump Bro.. anyway I'm kind of happy you did because I have yet to see this thread, and now if you don't mind I'm going to be Driving my 7 Fire Blade at Spa..:sly:👍

Now we just need PD to sort the settings for this little car, or give us a premium R500 Superlight =)

Premium R500 Superlight would be all sorts of win. Hell, do an update with that car and an Ariel Atom and we would be in heaven lol.:sly:

Good bump as well because I have not seen this thread and it reminds me to take the Caterham around Spa now.

I can't believe I haven't tried this yet. The Fireblade has always been fun to drive. It would be nice to have an RS500 to throw around there.

I'm trying to get my 7 to feel like a real one (because the one here is glitched). I already got the close transmission and the drivetrain parts (minus LSD). What tires should I use?
