Hi all, looking for some monitor advice, hope to find some here, overclock.net is a bit daughnting in some ways, but I'll post on both.

---

I'm looking for a 27 inch 1440p monitor, and think I've found the best one, and it's only $417 USD. It's called a Yamakasi Catleap Q271, it's black, 27 inches, a multi-monitor (meaning it has more than just DVI-D input, but may result in input lag if that bothers you), and it's 1440p.

There's also a Q270 by the same guys, which seems older and slightly more expensive, afaict, all it has which is (subjectively) superior, is that the input locations are on the side of the monitor, not the bottom of it, otherwise I cannot tell the difference.

I've seen Youtube reviews of the Q271, there is no backlight bleed which I'd hate, my seller has garunteed 'Pixel Perfect' which is important when buying a monitor from Korea because most of these brands are using the same panels LG do, but they are the rejects (graded A+, A and A-) with only a few of the rejects being completely acceptable, it's been found often, that the A and A- rated monitors come with stuck or dead pixels, so the money back on pixel perfect is really a necessary insurance.

I currently run a Samsung SyncMaster P2350 (1080p, 50,000:1 DC) and will be running the new monitor via DVI-D from my GTX 670 at 2560x1440p and at 1080p and 720p via HDMI from my PS3.

I did initially want a 30 inch monitor, but discovered that they only come at a 16:10 resolution, which would've been a slight downer for GT5 natively 16:9 (a friend helped me test it using his awesome 16:10 monitor, and it was barely noticable, but still noticable, the monitor scaled it to full screen, so no black bars, but I knew it was stretched in height).

Would be interesting to hear other people's alternatives if they run a similar set-up, if I had more money I suppose I'd buy a massive 1080p TV and then go with a 30inch+ monitor for my PC, but I want a combined solution because of space and cost reasons (although I am willing to spend nearly $500 on the right monitor, not willing to spend $2000 for two better ones).

Thanks for reading, and especially if you reply - Regards, Conza

Catleap have great monitors which it seems you already know.

I would personally run a 27" monitor then a TV for console games. That's just my preference. I hate console games on a monitor. You can pick up some really really nice 40"+ TVs now for cheap.

OCN really is a better forum for a question like this though lol.
