Who hear has a CD Re-Writer/Burner/Copier whatever you want to call 'em that let you copy music and data from one cd to a blank cd.

I do. It's a Acer CDRW 4x4x32. You don't have to use it for copying cd's, you can use it to play cd's and games that require the cd, etc as well. My normal CD drive is stuffed so I just use my CD Burner.

One more question, do you think they are worth the money. Mine cost a couple of hundred bucks.

well.... i won't reply about your input but I will say that mine is a Liteonit 12x10x32 that I got a few months ago for much less than 200. oops, I've already responded to it...

Use it for everything. :D

They're cool. If you've got a mod chip in your Playstation and a big enough blank cd, you can copy Playstation games and play them on your PS. If you don't have a chip, the Sony won't recognise it.

I've got a Yamaha SCSI writer, 8x4x24x. It's been pretty cool so far, but I don't use it very much.

I've got a 16x speed Yamaha, and next time a show rolls around I'm going to pick up the 40x Plextor. ($135 at the last show, should have bought it... :( ) I definitely get my money's worth out of them so I figure I should treat myself once in a while ;) And if DVD burners ever get up to speed (3x at least for a reasonable price) I'll be getting one of those too.

I heard somewhere that to burn a PS2 game, you need a DVD burner because PS2 disks are DVD size, which is bigger than a normal CD. And I suppose you'd need a DVD size disk to put in your PS2 anyway. And you'd need a mod chip as well.

I've got the TDK Velco 10x/24x/48x CD-RW drive that I like rather well... With my line of hobbies, I absolutely HAVE to have a CD Burner. As with Tom, I'm also waiting for DVD Burners to come down just a little more in price (mostly the burning media) as well as better performance...

I have a hard time waiting the three minutes for a 700mb burn with my 24x, I can imagine what a 3x DVD burner would take to burn 4.7 gbs...

Well, and good happiness stuff...!

I have a Philips DVD/CD-RW drive, but I have only burned a CD one time with it since I got my new computer. So far, I like it very much, and it will especially come in handy for backing up the endless gigabytes of digital photos that another family member takes...

I got the same one as you eddy_2790.
A Acer 4x4x32
I like it very much.Works like a dream. My normal cd drive has been broken 2 times, but the acer keeps working :)

Nah, I've got a Sony 12x. I only use it to write Linux ISOs and back up some data from time to time. Oh, I used to make audio CDs for my sisters.

Yeah I know. The good thing is with CD-Burners you can play a cd while your installing stuff off another cd or something like that. I can't play cd's on my pc though, speakers blown. :bawling:

I have a Pacific Digital 16x10x40x CD burner but I don't have another CD-ROM drive. I broke my DVD player before becuase of a halting error in the original Grand Theft Auto for the PC.

And let me tell you something that my father has. He has a CD burner at 40x10x48x on his office computer in UNISHARE at the city of Norwalk! Oh **** this ****, it's not really fair that he has an ultra fast CD burner! I forgot the CD burner's brand though.
