REVIEW

The Motorola V325. This nifty little phone was provided to me by Verizon Wireless (and my parents, of course) as a Christmas gift. Upon opening it, I was thrilled by the stylish outer casing and the LCD outer-display. I then opened the flip top to discover a 1.9", 65K color screen capable of 176 x 220 resolution. I was stunned by the amazing clarity of the vibrant factor-provided backgrounds and the menu text clarity. I soon found myself playing with the 480x640 resolution VGA camera (equipped with self-portrait mirror). The quality of the pictures from this camera are quite stunning indeed. It works well in low-light, despite the lack of a flashbulb. It comes with all kinds of nifty effects, including a built in photo-editor. You can always delete pictures you don't want, but with 30MB of user storage, that time may never arise. I soon discovered the "Get It Now!" store, which allows you to download ringtones, games, wallpapers, and miscellaneous applications straight to your phone directly from Verizon. After reading the manual, I was informed that the two little sensors on on the bottom near the microphone are light sensors. If they detect ample ambient light, it will shut off the keypad backlight to save the battery. I thought this was very nice. The phone is text enabled and is Mobile Web 2.0 compatible. I was a bit disappointed when I discovered that (so far) there is no legal, non-hacking way to transfer pictures from my phone and ringtones to my phone. Motorola Phone tools will NOT work for this due to the new Verizon Software. That's great, huh? On a lighter note, the outside includes the 95x32 resolution LCD panel, a flashy Motorola-trademark faceplate with a rubber-like outer bumper which allows you to grip the phone much better. You also get a very clear speakerphone, recording capabilities, and the ability to change the ring volume from High all the way to All silent by the press of a couple of buttons without ever opening the phone. This phone lacks any MP3 capabilities, so don't buy it if you want a flash memory/MP3 compatible phone.

Final Thoughts: I highly recommend this phone if you are on a budget and want functionality, style and ease-of-use all in one little package. If you want an MP3 player, I suggest looking for an LG or Samsung phone, because most Motorola's (including this) do not have MP3 capabilities.

Overall Rating: 8.5/10

I would be happy to answer any questions about the phone. Just post up :).

MachOne, can you get this as an upgrade phone? ( I have an entry level LG :yuck:)

And..... WOOO! First reply in the Review Forum! :D

My dad has one, but MetroPCS instead. Its cool, but to correct you, it CAN play mp3's. The camera's weak compared to my RAZR, but its still pretty good.

I also wanted to update: Motorola Phone Tools will not work with Motorola phones through Verizon Wireless. Verizon's media software denies access to it, thus rendering it useless.
