Saturday I raced in offline mode for the first time in the last 3-4 months.
I tested a new setup on my F40. First, I was suprised how well that car felt, no over/understeer, no loss of traction, it really felt like modern sportscar and not the unforgiving beast Im used too (I mainly test cars in free run mode online).

Okai, so I thought "Now its time for racing". I started a online lobby, with exactly the same settings as the ones I used in training mode (Nordschleife without day/night cycle, same tires, same PP, same setup, realistic track edge, no driving aids).
But then the car felt horrible again, small steering inputs caused the car to be unstable, bad traction... actually the F40 im used to.

Have you wittnessed something similar? Thats the first time I wittness such differences, I know that online modes physics is a bit different, but with other cars I didn`t felt such big differences.

I have noticed strange handling changes in cars since GT came out but I'm not sure why it happens. I've had my RM Corvette that I set up suddenly turn into an understeering monster in some races (although that was a few months ago). A few other cars have shown similar changes in handling, but after the race in question it usually fixes itself.

this is something with the stars behind the lobby...

I find a massive difference in the handling characteristics of the cars between online and offline, regardless of how many McDonalds badge stars the rooms have.
A really well tuned MR car will handle cambered corners reasonably well offline, but take them online and it'll just bounce itself round the wrong way. I also think there's a different weight or gravity setting online, which is why a lot of jump tracks don't work so well online.
