So heres the subject I'm very angry with, the stupid chainmails. Recently, I have been getting some chainmails which I used to have only 1 or 2 per year. Now I'm already at 10. Theres nothing much annoying that these ****s. Even that one I receive 3 times, about Hotmail again. But this says that "You need to send this to 20 people unless your hotmail account with be emptyed (or deleted I dont remember)", followed by "a message" of the Hotmail staff. Telling that Hotmail is getting tight or some ****. STUPID IGNORANT PEOPLE, THEY DO BELIEVE THIS ???? HELLOOOOOOO, have any of these stupid people saw an actual REAL Hotmail message ???? AH MY GOD, that choke me up...

Any chainmail of anytype, I DONT LIKE IT. I use email to communicate with people, not to receive bull****. WTF....

Whats your opinion this anyway ???

Oh well.. Back when I was young, these came by regular mail... A lot easier to ignore these email thingies.......

Anyway - Spamassasin filters 99.8% of mine, so who am I to complain...

(I should make a topic about the benefits of your own Domain name and running your own mail server....)

Argh, yeah I get them all the time. (Probably because I'm a right charmer) Here's an example of one I got earlier:

A Person Who Obviously Wants To Cause Me Great Anger
"Okay This Is The Sex Bunny
If U Recieve This Bunny
That Means Yr ****in Sexy
If U Get This Back
That Means Yr Even Sexier
Pass This Bunny On To 10
Of Yr Friends, If U Fail
U Will Be Cursed Wit
10 Years Of Bad Sex..."

Heh what can I say :D I mean I HATE THIS STUFF ITS STUPID!! 10 years of bad sex, excuse me, IM STILL A VIRGIN!!! It makes me think the sender must hate me or something...

Well I dunno, you might have to go ask that 10 quid hooker over there if she has slept with any 16 year olds.... :sly::odd::ouch:

Anyway back to topic, heres another:
From A Certain Idividual Called Ashley..
REAL FRIEND TEST !
This is GOOD...I expect it back too!

A simple friend, when visiting, acts like a guest.

A real friend opens your refrigerator and helps herself.

A simple friend has never seen you cry. A real friend has shoulders
soggy from your tears.

A simple friend doesn't know your parents' first names.

A real friend has their phone numbers in her address book.

A simple friend brings a bottle of wine to your party.

A real friend comes early to help you cook and stays late to help you clean.

A simple friend hates it when you call after she has gone to bed.

A real friend asks you why you took so long to call.

A simple friend seeks to talk with you about your problems.

A real friend seeks to help you with your problems.

A simple friend wonders about your romantic history.

A real friend could blackmail you with it.

A simple friend thinks the friendship is over when you have an argument.

A real friend calls you after you had a fight.

A simple friend expects you to always be there for them.

A real friend expects to always be there for you!

A simple friend reads this e-mail and deletes! it.

A real friend passes it on and sends it back to you!

Pass this on to anyone you care about......if you get it back you
have no beginning, no end. It keeps us together,

like our Circle of Friends.

Today I pass the friendship ball to you. Pass it on to someone who is
a friend to you…

I used to get them all the time when i had YIM but then it started to release spyware, and my dad found some trojan coming from that and MC anti-spyware. So i deleted it computer was lil better. But Now that i don't have it i don't get them anymore, i never really check my e-mail though........

I got a whole day of catastrophic bad luck one time.

I also found a 1gb SD card on the floor on that same day with not so much as a cut.

Stop. Using. Hotmail.

Simple. Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, actually ANY e-mail program is better than hotmail as far as spam / chain letters are concerned...

Ahmen. I once had 400 e-mails in a couple days as a hotmail user. and 400 deleted, i can't remember the exact though.

I just delete them without looking at them before I even start looking at my emails. Usually you can tell what they are before you open them just by whats in the subject. I use to send them back to the person just to annoy them back, but then they started sending them back to me again for some reason, so i've just learned its better to delete them.

First, whats the point of that. I mean, seriously. Chainmails are sent by people that knows your address (most of the time, contacts for MSN, for me). Second of all, I have a GMail and Yahoo account and I get chainmails anyway.

Lets not start on debate on this please. :)

Well, since it seems quite obvious that you yourself are the root of all your horrible chainmail problems, what exactly do you want any of us to do for you? You just said these letters are coming from people in your contact list (or other mysterious no-good spectre-people who know your e-mail address and sit in front of their computers plotting your ultimate demise), so I can give you only one more piece of advice. Either manage your contact list better and be a little more discerning when you give out your e-mail address to people or businesses, or sign up for a new account that you can use for only your personal friends and others you feel confident won't fill your inbox with those aforementioned e-mails.

Or simply hit delete on all (gasp!) 10 of those chain letters. That would take all of twoto ten seconds, depending on your connection speed. And if you know who sent them to you (i.e. from your MSN Contacts list) then tell that person to stop, or remove them from your contact list.

Seriously though, how big a problem is 10 unwanted e-mails? There are several solutions to your minor problem, all of which are painstakingly simple. You're probably the 999 billionth person to complain about spam since the inception of electronic mail.

Posing your opinion about chainmails and not tell to people what to do or judging them.

I receive about 20 emails per day from different newsletters and my contacts. I dont want any spam or any chainmail to harrasse me. Obviously, my contacts doesnt understand what means "I DONT WANT THIS", and I have to deal it anyway.

The reason I posted this message is because I wanted that people poses their opinion about chainmails, not telling people what to do or judging them. Please, pose your opinion or just dont pose. Dont think I'm rude, but I personnally think that your comment was not part of an opinion and it was offensive to me. :)

LOL. Yeah.

The only spam messages I get are the Newgrounds top 5/10 etc. and the occaissional DUD3 OMG UR P#N1S! G|2OW! from some strange, randomized names that might infact belong to real people.

When people I know send me chain letters (usually the ones I know in person), I let them know how I feel about it in person.

That's all i get, if i had a dollar for ever "DUD3 OMG UR P#N1S! G|2OW!" e-mail i get, bill gates would be my butler.

Im to the point now where my Gmail account is getting 2+ Spam e-mail a day, Last week the spam bin had a total of 60 E-Mails..
Doesn't matter too much, I've got anough E-Mail addresses to last me

i barely get any bad emails through my spam filter in hotmail. Kinda suprising considering ive had the email address for a few years and have used it to sign up to so many forums and things.

But I agree, i hate them too

I'm starting to get them at work every few days; somebody must collect all the email addresses that were Fwd:Fwd:Fwd:Fwd:'d and just blasts all of us with that tripe every so often.

Basically, if it has Fwd: anywhere in the title, and I know I didn't send it, I just delete it without a second thought. If I really care to send something interesting, I'll start a fresh email from scratch; it's more persomal anyhow.

I like chainmail. It's a +6 on your AC (if I remember correctly), and it's not nearly as heavy as full plate - so you wont' get fatigued. Most of my characters had major Dex bonuses though, so rather than take the penalty from chainmail I'd use studded leather or something. But it's good armor for your low-level paladin type character.

👍

I've got my next response to chain mail all set.

I haven't had a chain mail in years. When someone does it at work there is one executive in IT who then forwards it to the whole company, addresses the offender by name, and explains that this is not what our email system is for. The offender is quickly shamed out of the habit.

As for my personal email at home; my email addresses have changed over the years with going to college, transferring schools, switching service providers when moving, and so forth. The biggest offenders that I know personally are given a Yahoo! address that I only check about once a week. It is the same one that I use for GTP and any other online stuff I do. In a week it gets about 300-500 emails, most of which are sorted into the junk mail folder automatically. I read through the 10 or so emails in my inbox, and then go on. My work email and personal email are only given out to a chosen few. The only advertising I get is the only one I want - early ticket sale notices for UK basketball and football (American kind).

All in all my system works well and no one accidentally gets filtered.

Brilliant. :D

I've had the same email account for about... 7 years now. It's my primary Email, and a Hotmail account, and besides the few subscription emails I get daily, I get almost no junk mail in my inbox. I, in fact, rarely get more than 5 per week in my inbox, and about quadruple that gets filtered out (zOMG!1!!!1 CheeP Rx Prescripshuns!!! ANd ManH0Od EnHancErs!!!!11!). I don't think I've gotten any actual chain mail in months, and I haven't actually forwarded any in years.

Kind of like a Stage 2 turbo upgrade on that old Silvia, right? On second thought, don't answer that.
