I just finished the nascar challenge as a beginner. Wow. Hate to try it in expert. Took me 5 or 6 attempts to do just the first challenge drafting a single car. Then the next one was drafting several. 10 mins later I finally earned a bronze.

Is anyone else having this kind of progress? I know I'm no hardcore gamer by any means, but I was expecting the "beginner" level to be easier than that.

It's alright. I still can't get past bronze on some of the NASCAR challenges, and I'm at A-spec level 33.

Ya, you're way ahead of me there. Only got the game (and system) this past xmas. A-spec 17 and B-spec 8

Take your time, same with licenses. The more you drive, a better driver you'll become. Also, I recommend some good automotive lecture (just google, there's a ton of stuff), watching the demos and some pro videos at YouTube.

Nice:tup: What's your favorite car so far? Welcome to :gtpflag:, by the way. And i do recommend trying for all gold on the licenses. Get all silver, then go back later once you feel that you are good enough to get most of them gold. It really does make you a better driver.

So far my favborite car is the '02 Honda NSX type R. Love the looks and handling. Haven't got it maxed out for mods yet, doesn't seem like there's alot to get for it. I'm also working towards the '06 Ford GT.

Welcome to the 'Planet, fellow Canuck!

The NASCAR challenges are some of the harder ones, especially if you are saddled with a DS3. I'm not sure if it still allows you to turn off all the driving aids, including ABS, but if it does, you'll want to do that in later challenges, like the one involving sticking to one lane on the banking. The ASM and ABS don't seem to get along very well with constant turning on the DS3, and I remember being stuck on that challenge for quite a while back when I got the game. Of course, I haven't revisited it since :p

Also, the NSX is an excellent all-rounder, make pop into the Tuning sub-forum and check out some of the bigger garages for some tunes that may make it even better for you!

Good advise Slip. Thx. Also good to see a fellow Canuck here. 👍

i hate nascar and ovals, turning left all the time, if i wanted to race nascar i would of bought a nascar game.....

My favorite car has just changed lat night. i was running a 'vette LT1 until i got myself the Lotus 111R '04. So far I got it at 228 hp, 720kg, and 532 pp. hugs corners like it's on rails (which I love) and nice and quick. Still got some work to do on it to increase hp. wikll see later tonight how it goes.

Nascar advanced is really difficult. Gold on Indy - Two Laps was a little easier, just brake later than everyone else. "Exiting Pit Lane" and "Daytona - Two Laps" is ridiculous, you cant even catch up.....................=(

If ASM (Active Stability Management) is locked to ON, then you'll need to increase the ABS to 10.
Like others, it has been a while since I've done those special events, but that was an issue at the time.
