I just got done whooping the Tuscan Speed 6 in the pro F/R race. The car was bothering me through qualifying, but it wasn't until I watched some of the replay (i love to watch me work it...) that I noticed that the Tuscan Speed 6 was changing colors just like the chameleon paint we see in the hood. I know that to most of my brothers and sisters here on GTP this is irrelevant. But in terms of game development, this is a serious breakthough. I dont know if it would be technically correct, but I think this is the first 'active reflection mapping' that has ever come home on a console platform.
PS If someone wanted to start a graphics/programming/polygon counting thread, I would check it daily...

:) i wish you could get it on some of the "Better" looking cars :) (The TVR speed 6 does look good but its not all that :()

Thats the same color I have, I love it. The tuscan challange I think is one of the best, its seems the AI drivers try in that series.

yea I have a 2557hp, 450mph RX-8 Evolv racer...it's awsome...
Renesis power too ofcourse.

i did that race too yesterday. i had a grey tuscan so i couldnt see the color morphing thing. btw, i kicked its a$$ with my s2000 lm

yea it's more white than purple, but you can still see the bits of purple show up.

those tvr chamelon paints do look sweet, but it seems like those cars get dirty faster than the other cars. they always look the coolest when doing a car wash. very noticeable difference.

I won an NSX S Zero that seems to have the same paint effect its blue and green it looks the bizness

it's not that the paint changes, it's more like there's 2 colors blended very cleanly. go look at the speed 6 (car dealer) and change the colors. look carefully, and you can tell there's multiple colors there. good lord, that is the worst idea i have ever seen on a vehicle.

Yeah but IRL the cars actually do change colour, they showed pics of the tuscan on a hot day and a cold day and the colur was slightly different. Nissan even made a Primera with it (why????)

they have mustangs with mystic paint. main colors are purple and green, but there are shades of red yellow and orange, depending on the light angle.

Has anyone seen the movie Swordfish with John Travolta and Hugh Jackson? There is a TVR Tuscan Speed 6 in that movie! It's the same one that Johnm Travolta owns(they showed it on MTV Crib's). I think it's Chameleon blue
