How do I choose the car I want after winning a championship series race? I.E. American Championship in the Amateur League (4 Prize cars) I want 1 specifically. I understand I can save before the last race and just reload if I dont get the car I want, but Im still unsure on how to use the shadow and which button to press to obtain the highlighted car I want.

:banghead: So the car the shadowed spot resides when choosing the car isnt by choice it just falls on a random car? Thats ****ing lame! Why even show it?

try the one lap wins or instant wins codes to speed up your search for a car, if the car pops up you dont want either transfer to another memory card or just sell it, is one way to raise your cash flow

That bites, I can only suggest you somehow pick up a Disc with codes, I got mine at the Game Store for $9.95... makes all the difference if you dont want to spend the time on a 100 lap race... Just a thought

Well after about 10 loads on Gran Turismo World Championship in the Amateur league I finally received the Toyota GT-One Road Car. Anyway I did try different button combinations and using the D-pad and I found that its not random, not totally. For about 3 of the loads I didnt press a damn thing and I received the Mazda RX8. Another 2 times I just pressed buttons (not D-pad) and I received the Nissan Z Conecpt Car and I also won the Nissan C-West Silvia once. I think that there is a way to choose the car you want. Why would you be able to see that screen where the shadow moves anyway?

to make u feel that u got the car u wanted and then the circle jsut goes on another car !! its just b u l l s h i t

The only cars that spring up of any use to me are the F1's

Tecra - welcome to GTPlanet. This topic has really been chewed over, and just like real racing, everybody (including me) has their superstitions. However, after really paying careful attention to it, I have to say it is totally random. Not to say that you have an equal chance of which car you win (because I do believe that if there are 4 prize cars, there may be 12 or 16 possible selections, with some cars weighted more heavily than others), but that you really can't influence it.

The best I've been able to come up with is varying the length of time you run before quitting the last race. I don't think you can use that to predict the car you'll win, but I do thin that changing that number reseeds the selector differently.

Anyway, welcome agian to GTP.

Is random as you suggested, only thing to do is keep tryin until you get the car you want

as an example...

long time ago i sold my vertigo race car(dont ask me why)

and i wanted to the it back so i did the uropean championship and won all race and i did the reload/save trick

i had 4 times the skyline

3 times the cooper

5 times the Elise

and once the vertigo

Yes, see gumpy's thread for more proof that it is random...just use the save/reload trick and then eventually you'll get the car you want.

other suggestions are that when u finish the 4th race save then skip the last one..and after the random things shows up and that u don't like the car u got..re-load ur memory card and skip the last race again until u get the car u want from the random thing.!!lol i got that from all the freindly and no eveil people here.!!! also need tuning help..? go to

www.gtvault.com and look for fumes setups man they work really good. and also not just fumes lots of good tuineres have goos suggestions on the car...

Note: r u asking that becasue u juts strted GT3 no longer thatn a week or monthe gao..?

yea thats right. u save before the last race and then quit the last race and depending on how long before you quit the race u will usually get different cars.

actually i found that if i press X on the car with the shaddow under it i will get it every time, always comes in handy after endurance races

hope i helped

I think it adds to the excitement. There are a few things in this game that has got me excited.

1. Watching the shadows go around and being able to make out the F1 car and cheering for it to come up. When it did come up I did a jig around the room. (This was my first F1 and I am exaggerating a little)

2. Watching the shadow go around in the Polyphony Digital Cup and wanting it to stop each time it goes past the F1 car. After about the 15th reload it stops on the F1 and it is black and white. Woohoo the last colour 001 I needed. And yes I did watch the shadow 15 times. Now that I am deep into the game about 95% and only a handfull of prize car colours I am trying to get I find that I am getting ecited on the prize car screen.

3. S8 - what a hoot. I think this is the most hated part of the game by those who haven't beaten it (and yes I was there) but one of the best parts for those who have beaten it.

In general I think the shadows adds a little bit. I think it would be boring to be handed a prize car and not seeing the others.

I just kept playin til I got all the F1's I wanted an sold the others I didnt

It would be nice if it wasn't totally random (which I don't believe it is IMO). It would make running the endurance races a LOT more fun.

it's a bit like when you're choosing a lane in a traffic light or a queue in a bank/supermarket - the one you choose is usually the slower!!! same with the prize - the car you REALLY want will probably take ages and many reloads to pop up!

And worse are those times when you already have the car that is given to you but not in that great color - and you can't make up your mind on wether to keep it and do the series one more time or reset and try again (of course with an extra memory card this is no problem!!!)
