Change Car in Lobby Race

Not sure if I'm missing an obvious button/option here.. but when I go into the lobby and join a race.. I don't see an option to change my car.

Currently I have to quit back to the main menu > garage > change car > re-enter lobby

Is there a much quicker way than above?
 
Top left: Race Settings -> Change Car.

If you've already entered the track, you need to cancel your entry before switching cars.

If your car is entered, you can't change it. You have to un-enter it, and at the top right we're it says race options, there should be an option that says select car.
