Change in physics on rally tracks

I've noticed something very strange. If you choose a rally (snow or dirt) the steering wheel settings seems to change. I no longer have 900 degrees of steering, more like 700. Then going back to a road course it changes back again.
Does anybody know what is happening here? Cheers

Of course. Rally cars have more narrow steering angle.

Aha, makes sense. Such a shame they did it with all the cars, makes rallying with non-rally cars boring... Thanks anyway

F1 cars should have a 180 degree steering lock IRL, haven't seen this in GT5 as of yet.

From center, yes. But if you go from one extreme to the other it's 360.
