Ordinarily I start to install the games then cancel, as my hard drive is full but it then shows as "owned" and I can download and play it at a later date. But now, when I try to do this with Victor Vran, it says I can install and play it, or own it for £15.99. If I start to download it then cancel, it doesn't show as "owned". I realise that the "free" games are no longer playable if you cancel your subscription anyway, but does this mean I can't install and play Victor Vran for free after October?

I did Google but no cigar. If this is the case I feel a little like I'm being held to ransom as the games will be henceforth useless to me, but if I cancel my membership I can't even play the many games I've lined up previously.

If it's anything like PS+
That if you have it in your library you can download and play at any time you want, (As long as you have an active sub)
Once it expires you cannot play them anymore, even if you have "owned" through the "free" game month, you still need an active* sub to play.
*At lease that's what PS+ does.

Thanks, I know that but it still used to show the game as "owned" and available at any time in your download library (even though as you say, this is subject to remaining a Gold member). Now, if you start to download it and cancel, it just goes back to showing the options "install and play" or "own for £15.99". My concern is that it might only be allowing me to install and play it for free for one month? I can't see why else they would have changed the wording.

I don't know why it would of even tried to install when you didn't have enough room?
So I would maybe try installing and see if the price goes away or if it doesn't then it's probably something to do with how it was done.

Yeah sorry, I didn't explain it too well, what used to happen was you start to download/install it, it then says you don't have enough space but it then shows as "owned" and is on your download list, to download and play in the future when you have space (subject to Gold membership of course). Effectively it used to act like you "bought" the game for free and then automatically tried to download it. On that failing, it would update to "owned" anyway and be always available on your download list.

However now it goes through the same motions, but when you go back to where it offers up the games the status hasn't changed. It doesn't show as "owned" and clicking gives the same options, to install and play now, or own the game for £15.99. The latter option didn't used to appear at all, and there is no indication that I can install it for free at a later date, when the lineup changes. I'm wondering if they are amalgamating it into a Netflix-style gaming on-demand service (which is a thing either for PS or Xbox or both, forget offhand), which is OK I guess as long as it's not restricted to playing the games only in a given month.
