When I change from my 5th gear to 6th gear I start to drop speed. I'm running around 275mph and start to red line and when I shift into 6th gear it drops back to 270, 265 and so on until I down shift to 5th again. Is this normal or what?:sly:

Adjust your 6th gear ratio in the transmission settings.

closer or farther from 5th?:dunce:
thanks for ur help!

You want to move 6th to the right to make the gear shorter. the problem is when you hit 6th gear the ratio is to low for the engine to push the car thru the resistance of the air.

Or just lower the top speed overall you got it wound out to far, also if your trying to do a high speed run turn down the down-force as low as possible if able.

With your current ratios, shifting from 5th to 6th is causes a drop in hp, most likely because the tall gearing that you are using is causing engine RPM to fall to a low value.

You wan to make it so that when you shift into 6th, the RPM's are high. This will allow good acceleration. What exactly determines "high RPM" will be found in the car's powerband. Ideally, you want to make it so that the 5 to 6 shift happens exactly at the RPM where 5th gear has the engine turning at a RPM with the same hp that the RPM in 6th gear will produce. This will lead to equal acceleration on both sides of the gear shift.

Besides just changing 6th, I would suggest lowering the gear ratios of 1-5 if possible. Especially 1. GT5 has terrible gear setting options because you can barely move the ratios around, but you might be able to make some small improvements.

oook! it is holding so in a draft it should work good....right?👍

If by holding you mean the mph/kph are not dropping then yes you should be able to use 6th as a "draft gear".
