Hi there,

Can someone tell me if there is a roundabout way of changing the screen resolution?

I go into display settings, but the little box with '1080p' in it is unselectable. I can't highlight it or change it, but I can see it.

I want to change to 720p (what my tv is in).

TV is a 42' Samsung plasma.

Am I being stupid? What's going on?

Go to PS3 XMB (main menu) > Settings > Display Settings > choose which ever connection you are using (HDMI or Components) > UNcheck the boxes that say 1080, then your PS3 and games should always run in 720p.

it defaults to what ever the res is with the ps3, so to change it in game you have to exit back to the ps3 xmb menu, go to settings, display, change it to 720p, then boot the game back up and you'll be playing it in 720p. :)

Woooo.

I've only had the PS3 for a couple of weeks so that explains the ignorance at least.

Thanks for the help.

4xAA here I come.

Perhaps they should patch in the ability to set rez?
What if I like my FPS in 1080p, but my GT5 in 720p? Toggle PS3 setting each time?
