Hi, that's my simple question... I'm thinking about replace the stock G27's wheel with a rally-like real steering wheel. ¿Is the weight an issue? (this particular wheel isn't too heavy, but I choose to care before to cry)

Thanks!

I have no experience with doing this but as no one else has replied - the extra weight does make a difference, if the wheel is a larger diameter then the motors will suffer more strain when changing direction (because of the inertia of the wheel). Many people do change their wheel, though, so I don't think it's very bad for the life of the motors, but it will probably shorten the life at least a little bit. You will also feel less force feedback from the G27. Some people change the motors for stronger ones to keep the force feedback high even with a real wheel mounted on it.

Thanks to both of you, guys. Yeap, the common sense was screaming in my head almost the same words that neema_t says :) but I want to double check it.

EDIT: I has talked with a guy who made custom parts... the old school rally steering wheel is about 600gr (21 Oz. aprox.), and he can made the holes in the same pattern than the original G27's ...

¿What do you think about it?

I would suggest to stay with the stock one , or just try both and keep your favorite one

Yes, I will stay for now but probably I try the custom one in a few months if it's not too expensive. :sly:
