Changing the dratted oil!

:banghead: I'm currently working on the Formula GT Championship, and have noticed a marked decline in the performance of the car, naturally, when the oil light comes on. What I can't figure out, and I'm hoping someone here has, is how to change the stupid oil mid championship? No doubt the car would appreciate a hot bath between the beginning and end of the series too, before the mud is caked on so thick it requires a chisel to remove it, lol. But since this is just a video game, not real life, I'm sure it will settle for a way to change the oil :irked:. This is seriously annoying me, since I'm not such a great driver that a dramatic decline in performance makes no difference at this level of competition.

I wonder if the programmers did that on purpose???

I hate it when that happens...

Most races it's not TOO much of a problem...but in the F1 Champ. it really puts you behind the proverbial 8 ball in the last couple races...

You have to drive and strategize your butt off!

lol

not really if you are fast enough and have a reasonable setup you can blitz the field by at least 2+ laps (monaco that is)

It seems kind of weird that you can't change the oil during a race series, don't real race teams change the oil between races. That the rules of the game so we have no choice but to live with it.

I don't think they do...but who knows for sure...

I know that in the F1 Championship the last couple races ALL the other cars are faster...and you have to out drive them...and out pit strategy them.

Bollocks must be a better driver than I am.

:odd:

The AI doesn NOT lose their oil, which is very unfortunate, but you can still easily pull through, and no permanent damage is done to your car afterwards. :)

How many kilometres is that? Sounds like about 1500... That long. Didn't seem that long though ;)

Race the first couple of races with a finishing position of first then when it gets to the last couple save your game and exit the championship, as u have already accumulated a lot of points u r bound 2 win the champs.
If some other guy has got close marks to u enter the next race muk him up so that u will be 5th and him 6th, then exit that race after u do that(u dont have to race the whole race to muk him up) then see whether u advantage over the other racers is high enough for u 2 quit the champ, if not follow the mukking up process

Thanks to everybody for your replies. *sigh* I guess I was just hoping I'd overlooked something. I'll just have to keep at it till I get good enough to keep winning despite the dirty oil. One would think the programmers wouldn't do that to us, lol. Wishful thinking. Thanks for the strategy tips.

I realized something since I posted that, looking at the prize cars section of this site. My F1 I've been using is the /H variety, which is about 100 hp down to the /M car. I'll have to go crash around Cote D'Azure's endurance until it coughs up an /M car. I've been doing well with the /H, up until the oil goes bad about half way through. So, I'm hoping the extra 100 hp on the /M will make the difference. :D
