ive just won the chaparral 2d race car and ive got to say its acceleration is just pathetic. it pratically pauses to get up to 50mph then (the good bit) starts to speed up incredibly. it is one strange car, has any one else had problems with this car. if you have let me know.

It may be because of the turbo lag. If it has a turbo, not sure :D

I dont think it has a turbo, because it doesn't have a gauge thingy by the revcounter..

Sounds good, cant say the same about the under 80kmh acceleration though :( pity, cos its a good car... must try tinkering with the gears like Jmac said :)

Hi guys-let the old guy solve the mystery. Chaparrals used automatic gearboxes. The designer's Can-Am cars had the first big wing on a race car, and he had it on swivels so it would pivot. The wing was flat on the straights, and angled down for the corners. The driver controlled it with a pedal where the clutch pedal usually was.

Google "Jim Hall" Chaparral if you want to know more. He was an interesting guy. 👍
