Chassis Reinforcement or no Chassis Reinforcement?

It all depends on the car. I found that running some cars without chassis reinforcement like the Ferrari 330 P4 keep the handling sharper and with a bit more over-steer, while in others, having chassis reinforcement installed increases the stability during cornering, allowing harder turns without risking of wheel-spin.

It's all preferences. I personally like running a lot of my cars with chassis reinforcement. I like that stable feel.

The fact that it cant be undone once installed turns off alot of people.

If its an old pre 1980's road car or an old convertable I'll use the Chassis Reinforcment, unless its a rare or expensive car (since its permenent).

I would think that having it on would always be better.

I like a little twist in my car, but past a point it becomes a hinderance. The twist in the body builds potential energy, allowing for a better burst out of the turns.

However, if the car is crap or the turn is taken wrong, it can be dissapated and wasted, bogging down your times and turn exit. In this instance, i'd add the reinforcement.

I think you're right. I remember them talking about it in F1 at a Monaco race.

But wouldn't the cars in GT5 be better with the reinforcement and a tinker with the settings?

I just reinstalled the game because I wanted my stealths back to stock... Ok, it was actually that I installed engine stage 3 on the 2 GT500, before I knew that they should be driven stock... Now I'm not sure whether to install the chassis reinforcement on them again?
