i am sure that if chassis warp were not depicted accurately, it would not be in the game. But is chassis warp a real threat and what kind of problems could it display in a 200 mile race or a 24 hour race.? please, i want to know if i have neglected to provide proper care to my cars. :nervous:

The car's handling will begin to degrade over time - several thousand miles. If you're buying used cars, it's probably worth doing the 'refresh' on them, which kind of defeats the purpose of buying them, since it's expensive to do.

Well first off, it's not displayed accurately, but we'll overlook that. Over a 24-hour race you'll cover enough miles that your chassis will warp before the end of the race, likely around the 15-20 hour mark. That is, if you're going fast enough to actually win the race...if you're in a slow car that won't cover a lot of ground you might not have any problem with it, but good luck winning :) And having to buy it on every used car you drive (if you want it to drive correctly) is ridiculous. I guess they've all been in wrecks

In the tuning area for all the different manufacturers under the section "other" you can purchase a chassis refresh, it's the section that includes weight reduction. I think it's about 30,000 credits.

"Chassis Refresh" in the "Others" section in the tuning screen. It basically re-welds your car so that the chassis is rigid again. If you're just puttering around in your used cars, it's not needed, but if you want them to perform at racing pace, it's a good idea. Expensive, though, at 50,000 Cr.

I think it's just insanely overpriced. You could do that stuff at home with the right equipment...

I think B-Spec Bob must weigh about 6,000 pounds, because when he's in the car, the chassis alignment goes to hell after about 1,000 miles. I started a 24 Le Mans race with a fresh car, and after about 10 hours, it was barely driveable.

I think the chassis refresh only really plays a significant role in the handling at high speeds with stiff suspension. Something like a used Miata to go in the Roadster race doesn't need the refresh that much, but the Black LMs benefit a lot.
