You are right and wrong. With that center post being so close to the pedals and in front, it will make moving your feet around much more difficult than something like a Playseat. But even the Playseat center post bothered me for the few years that I had mine.
Best solution if you don't have a lot of money but want something sturdy is to build it yourself. With a basic $4 handsaw, some wood screws, a couple 2x4's, and a couple 1x4's you could build something better than that.

As far as the center post . The above person was correct. The pedals are to close to the stand. If you are able to push the pedals father away from the post you will no longer be banging your feet.
I use a fanatec rennsport stand and the pedals are far enough away that the center post is not an issue.
i already have a wsp for my csr and csr elite pedals. this would be a second stand for my microsoft wheel for use at girlfriends house. gone ahead and ordered one anyway. will compare to my wsp once all set up.
