Hi guys,

I'm currently toying with the idea of getting a 360 for Forza 3, 4 and Horizon, but I only have a G27 at the moment which won't work. I've just looked at the CSR-E but it's £400 or so even before shipping and I can't really spend that much. I know it's much better than the G27 but that would mean I'm spending upwards of £600 to play like three games.

So what I'd like to do instead is explore the possibility of integrating a 360-compatible wheel logic board into the G27's hardware. This is, of course, a huge gamble (and purely hypothetical at this point) so I can't spend all that much. Have you any suggestions?

Alternatively, are there any Fanatec wheels which are comparable to the G27? I don't want anything lower quality but I also don't want to pay through the nose for it. The CSR-E is a definite no as I'm saving money for college next year and £400 is just too big a dent for a wheel just so I can have a 360!

How about the CSR? It does 360, PS3, and PC. You could use it for the 360 or even drive the G27 with it in some fashion. The CSR uses the same motor drive mosfets as the G27. You can use G27 pedals with it. You can upgrade to load cell brakes with either (kit for G27, actual pedal set for Fanatec).

Same MOSFETs, interesting... Any idea what the position sensor is like by any chance? Thanks for the info!

Well guys, thanks for the suggestions but I think the CSR is the way to go. I had no idea you could buy the wheel by itself, so if I do get a 360 I'll get the CSR by itself and adapt the G27's pedals and shifter to work with it. If my G27 was out of warranty I wouldn't mind cracking it open to mod it but as it is it's a big risk just to play Forza.

You can also use your G27 shifter with the wheel via my adapter. ;)

So you have an adapter to connect your G27 shifter to a Fanatec wheel? Or do you have one of Leo's USB adapters for the PC? Or where you planning on using the Fanatec shifters?

If you are making your own, you won't be able to just connect the output from the pots in the shifter to a cable. If you want any info on that let me know, I don't mind helping. :)

I would make my own, I've read that the Fanatec shifter is 3.3V and uses 5k pots so with that info it should be pretty straightforward to make my own adaptor.
