I hate Cheating. its like admitting ure crap at the game!!!
people will spend £30 on a game and cheat to complete it as soon as they get it  waste of money!!! ITS REAL
Then they complain how boring the game was!! :D

Reply and say what YOU think....

LOL

One of my friends always use walkthroughs.

And then he brag about him completing a game in a week. While I might unly be about 1/3 of the way through the game..

But then he always whine about him not having any game that is vorth spending any money on. Exept for Final Fantasy VII, which he has completed (walked through) 3 times.

If I had to be led by my hand through a game, I would not buy it. I would rent it.

I have said it before, and I will say it again:

NO CHALLENGE = NO FUN!!!

I used to feel this way.

Lately, I've begun to realize something. Once a game gets so hard that you have to work at it...it's not fun anymore. I bought a Strategy Guide at the same time I bought FFX - a first for me. I've really enjoyed FFX. Mostly because I don't get stuck banging my head against the same part over and over again. That lost its entertainment value for me years ago. :(

Now, before you start in, I don't reference the guide until I get stuck. I do like to discover the game for myself when I can. But if I get stuck, and there are no more obvious solutions, I look at the book.

Well some games are meant to be a challenge in some way. Since the only game I play right now is GT3, I can't say too much. I never had a guide for something like all the Mario games, but I still conquered them....eventually :p

With GT3, you can make your own strategy. If someone's strategy is to get an F1, then crush whoever they can, let them do it. That is their strategy. They can't complete the game without proving their worthiness of some driving skill. The model specific race series and the Polyphony Cup is plenty to occupy their time and patience. Plus the Formula 1 Championship will slow them down also he he 😈

But final words.... To each his own...

Well, GT3's a bit different because you've still got to sit down and do the miles (even if it's in an F1 car), and if you want 100%, the Time Trials mean you have to be a pretty good standard.

With you on the cheating thing though - to hear people whine they got no value out of a game they whizzed through because they had the strategy guide or used cheat codes - 'shut up!!' I say!

If people can use a guide like you do, instead of following it step by step, then it's ok. But most people can't resist using it all the way. And that's when the fun of the game is ruined.

There's only 1 problem with walkthroughs, you have to make sure your driving style is more or less the same as the author's or you'll end up with a car you hate.I use a prizelist guide and i've seen people post here saying that is also cheating!!! To each his own i say.

I can understand having a walkthough on a Linear game like Final Fantasy. But with a non linear game like Gran Turismo means that you're basically going to end up with the same cars and the same setups that everyone else that has used the guide. So it might as well be pointless putting all the other cars in the game. I mean the majority of the fun I have playing Gran Turismo is getting a car tuning it up, setting it up and then unleashing it against your mates cars. Thats gonna be a bit boring if you have all the same cars. And no difference in the setup of the cars. Basically guides are pointless in a game with so much choice.

That probably made no sense whatsoever

I still don't understand why some people has to beat a game in the shortest possible time.

Like my friend (The one with the Final Fantasy thing, mentioned earlier.)

He bought GT3 the day it came out. (A rare thing for him, because he's normally not bying games the days they come out, he's got a money problem..)
Then he played it a few days, phoned me an began whining about the game was too hard...
A few days later he came to my place, and saw that I had an F1...

"Wow man, how did you get that ??" And I told him, how to get it..

A few weeks later he phoned me again, said that the game was too easy, quote: "I mean, you race, you win a car, you sell it, you race again...."
It seems he was only using the F1....
And worse; he was trying to make me believe that GT3 isn't good. He started on the Damage / A.I. thing...

He was SO sick of this game....tw@t! TOTALLY ruined it !

I still play it every day :D :D

I must inform you that my F1 has clocked 51 km. So I haven't really used it.
I'm saving it for the GT championship (or whatever the F1 thing is called - I don't remember..)

also people seem to think that they r soooo good at a game they have cheated on by telling u how quickly they complete it.. they never will tell u that the reason they r so good is because they cheat constantly

Yep!! That's exactly what people do. I hate that: "I beat this game in 2.5 hours, I'm so coool" mentality.

I don't care how much time I use in a game. If it's a good game I certainly don't want to rush it. Like Half Life, Diablo 2, Any GT, Final Fantasy...Those games I haven't rushed. And I feel good about it. :D

I dont understand why you would want to complete a games so quickly. Its like your rushing through it because you just want to get it over with. Not to actually enjoy the game

The longer you take to complete GT3 just makes the victory even sweeter. I'm not even sure how long I have been playing mine, but it's been quite a while now, at least 2 months....

When I win a car, even now, it is better than it was 3 weeks ago. Ahhh, the sweet taste of accomplishment. :D

The only game I felt I needed to rush was Resident Evil 2. But that was only because I'd already completed it (slowly) and wanted the bonus extras for completing in less than 2.5 hours. :)

I know this sound kinda dumb but I like to complete GT several times always tring to complete it with different cars. This worked best on GT2, because I only stopped playing it when I bought GT3. Its harder on GT3 cuz theres less cars and no second hand market.

I know a lot of people who're suffering from a walkthrough+hyper_duper_super_cheat_world.com addiction, it's just sad. Like completing half life with godmode on the easiest level with a walkthrough. I like to *****slap 'em... :p

I posted something like this once not too long ago and people in here where ready to start a war with me, but i agree cheating is no good, youll be done with the game and still suck. And Axel F1 and escudo do not suck, just use them agains similar cars.

Well, that's cool - you'd done the hard work.

I agree. Doesn't seem much point spending £35 on a game if you are gonna cheat to complete it in a couple of days.

GT3 (fortunately) doesn't let you cheat. Unfortunatley some of the AI cars think that they are racing in a demolition derby - I call that cheating!

Using and F1 against lower cars is OK to give you a couple of reasonable cars - but b-o-r-i-n-g!!! To make it fun you need competition.

My son uses the Escudo - but he can't race in the single formula (silver arrow, TT etc) to save his life.

All I want is more cars - especially the Daibolo on the UK game. Need a x-port or shark port I suppose. Is that cheating?

It's not necessarily cheating by messing with a game for fun. Plus you can unlock hidden cars, save and email game saves and replays, create hybrids etc.

You can get the Diablo in both NTSC and PAL versions if you have an Xport. :) So that'll cheer you up... :D

How much is a Xport? Where can I get one? I thought it was NTSC only for the Diablo! Is it possible in that case we will be able to get all 6 F1 cars? :D

About £29.99 I believe. I'll check out a thread where I was sent the full details. Can't get all the F1's I don't think. :(

I have the Action Replay and I was considering buying the Xport but then I found out that the took those models out of the European Game
Although the prospect of Swapping engines around into other cars sounds might tempting. Are there any other things you can do with It?
